Sure is different than when my grandfather used to do it. My family was visiting him in northern Fla in very early 50s. They waited till the leaves had all died then burned off the leaves, helps make sure the snakes get out of there. Then cut to poles, then put them through a press the was powered by a mule or horse walking around in circles all day. Great video, thanks and really love not music.

Awesome video like always Buddy! Two questions, what’s the purpose of the black rubberish looking flap hanging from the conveyer? Why do they not leave the front wheel fenders in place on the tractors? Sure would help keep the tractors cleaner!

The flap is to make sure that the cane goes into the wagon and not on the ground. I'm not sure about the fenders though.

The purpose of two Rubber cortain is to make sure the cane will not miss to the cart tractor 🚜.

Thanks, our harvest usually lasts from late September till January.

very very good your season is starting more new video for us here, Our season usually starts in April and ends in November some plants in December depending on the rainy season here you don't harvest with this unit that you harvest, I love this work I am the leader of a harvesting front of four machines and seven tractors is very good, I intend to go to Louisiana next season I am researching a way for this to happen and see a voluntary harvesting and planting operation God willing I will get a contact there, very thank you stay with God.

No, they run two machines and trade in the oldest every 2-3 years. At that point the machine usually will need very expensive maintenance with the tracks so they find it more cost effective to just get a new one.

How do you know when a farm is going to harvest the field and where that field is

Well , for myself I am in contact with the farmer and they give me directions to where they will be harvesting.
