The ''Klunk Klick every trip'' guy Jimmy Savile was the pedophile that our new PMs CROWN Prosecution Service released from prosecution back in the day. The Freemasons who you see smoking and texting without seat belts at 80, 90, 100 mph will get away with it as well no doubt. This new camera is just another means of money collection. We'll all be driving in cotton wool straight jackets soon.

Slowing down road users on the motorway when there is no incident is dangerous, what this does is make road users see the speed limit go down, they drive past and it goes back to the national speed limit with no incident. They will start to ignore the 60 sign because they think its for nothing almost immune to the 60 sign in a way, iv seen this many times and can be more dangerous. You see a 60 sign and then when you look a mile down the road and the national speed sign is up and the road clear people will start to ignore the 60 sign.

I feel like I'm gonna get some hate for this but I'm gonna wade in anyway. Honestly, I think if you have a problem with this, it's probably because you do some of the things that are illegal and that it's trying to put a stop to. There are plenty of signs on the motorways telling you not to drink and drive, not to phone and drive, not to drive when tired and all that stuff, but it's your responsibility as a driver to know these laws anyway. I agree with some of your points but I don't have a problem with the existence of the camera itself, and perhaps that's because I do follow the rules. I do agree with your points about safety in respect of breakdowns and it would be an excellent use of AI to detect them and flag them so that a human can work the signs to alert people.

I have a tablet sized touch screen as part of my car stereo and I have had a several near misses with the kerb trying to adjust the sound - I make sure there isn't anyone in front of me or any pedestrians before I do it. My point is that a mobile in your hand moves with you so you can see and press the buttons easier. When something is built into the car dash, it bounces and shakes with the car and you need to hold the dash with your unused fingers to be accurate with your 'pressing' finger. I'm not talking about what is or isn't legal here, I'm trying to explain that it's physically easier to operate something in your hand than on the dash. By the way, I NEVER use my phone whilst driving - just thought I'd add that in case anyone thought I was advocating doing so.

@danieltesfaye8517
@danieltesfaye8517 Ай бұрын
How does that make sense? Using your phone is dangerous regardless whether it was at the lights or if the driver was warned of a camera ahead. If a police bike pulled up alongside and caught him on the phone it is the same result. “It’s not for safety if it’s hidden”? Do you hear yourself right now? The reason why it is hidden is because it is there to catch as many drivers as possible. Which is a good thing because it is necessary to have a zero tolerance for phone use behind the wheel and refusing to wear a seatbelt. People are warned about speed cameras because it is to slow the drivers down for certain parts of the road which have increased risk for collisions. Which hasn’t got anything to do with the drivers. Smart Motorways aren’t even that dangerous it’s the people who use them. Cause the average driver can’t drive properly.

Top Tip : keep your phone in a holder on the dash, that way if you get a PCN for scratching your ear you can prove the phone is not in your hand because its in the photo on the dash. It doesn't help you if you get somebody else's ticket . Unfortunately Government computers are dyslexic and often misread the car reg. My 90 year old mum got a Dart Charge PC despite being hundreds of miles away. The "evidence" photo even showed a totally different car and it was apparently a different colour but they still tried to enforce it knowing full well it was wrong. Its all one big scam

Slowing traffic down unnecessarily, only to allow an unmanned camera a better opportunity to catch someone, is itself an additional and unnecessary hazard. I predict a short future for such devices, pretty much on a par with ULEZ cameras.

100% for these cameras. Whilst idiots continue to use their phones whilst driving, there will be serious accidents. Just dont break the law, its not rocket science.

I'm obviously against all of this 'control' they are trying to assert on us, but actually I support this camera. If you use your phone while driving, it has been proven hundreds of times, it does cause a massive distraction, and has led to 1000's of serious accidents involving many innocent people being killed by others using their phones whilst driving. Seat belts are not as important, and it should be a personal choice, as you are not really going to cause further injury to others if you don't wear your seatbelt, only to yourself.

Great video, thanks. Honestly, we all know what it's about - money, easy fines, using cameras to help breakdowns well, that's not a money maker is it ! There's an element of safety but, really it's just a money spinner.

My gripe about “smart” motorways is on a lot of them in between the refuge areas which are too far apart anyway, there’s an Armco barrier around one metre or less from the edge of the road. So in the event of a breakdown if you can’t make it to the next refuge area you can’t even hop two wheels up the curb to at least get part of the vehicle off the roadway. In the event off a breakdown you are literally trapped on the motorway. The spacing of the refuge areas is far too great, in the event of total engine failure there’s no way you’re going to “coast” to the next safe area especially if it’s uphill.
