How does this band's music still hit me the same way it did literally 20 years ago? The only difference is that many of the lyrics from TDAG have a harder impact after surviving two wars, losing close friends to drugs and suicide, starting a family, starting a business. Way crazier in a small venue when they are headlining their own show and have full reign of the stage effects. If you ever get a chance to see them don't hesitate. Sometimes it's a blessing & other times it doesn't do the original any justice... I love this band, but (and in most cases) am not nuts about the sound & the liberties taken, although they have every right to do so. Also, I'm sure the atmosphere adds a lot to the enjoyment. I saw Brand New one time at a record store show for their release The Devil and God. I was 19 I had no money and we couldn't afford to get in. We were able to look through the glass and watch them. They should keep making music, fuck the noise.

If i asked the next 100 people if they have heard of Brand New their immediate response would be 'what brand new album are you talking about?' Its never a direct response to the *band* Brand New but a confused mistaken question for something out that theyd consider to be 'brand new'. I fucking *love* this band.
