Brand New Bostitch BTC400LB Bad Trans / Gearbox (18 volt lithium 1/2 cordless drill)

Brand new drill, never used beyond tightening phillips head screws for door hinges (maybe 4-5 at most @ minimal power). I used the #1 low gear setting for everything with no issue. Problem appeared when switching to high hear. Issue seems to have been there from the factory. Drill has less than 3 min total operation.
P.S.
I also checked to see if the chuck was bent.......Straight as an arrow!
I'll let you guys know how the customer service experience goes in a few days.

Its actually completely normal. Release the trigger fully. Thats all I actually use that to my advantage in some cases as a bonus. Dont always want a brake.

I'm pretty sure Stanley is actually the parent company of DeWALT, Bostitch, and Black & Decker. Bostitch drills were to be their medium tier drill, as their premium line would be DeWALT, since before they had nothing to fill the medium tier pricing.

You should do some torture test videos. You could be like "Well, I took it out of the box, and it broke! Don't buy it!"

I will when the send the replacement, I've got some slats on my deck to screw down and a few trim pieces to put up. To put it through its paces, I'll buy some 2x4's from lowes to test with a few spade bits and lag screws. If it breaks, I put up a video shaming it with my 15 year old bosh 3850.
