I was just in Lowe's and got the display models 16 gauge $60 18 gauge $50 I have many Dewalt 20V batteries with my Dewalt tools . Just sanded the ends off . Now I'm in heaven. Unbelievable deal

I just bought the 18 days now gone on clearance tool only for $180 and they had the giant 4.0 ah battery sitting next to it so I clicked it on there and bought it LOL. It was only missing the charger so I went on Amazon and eBay and nothing was available luckily I had a feeling it looks very similar to my DeWalt and found this video! Thanks buddy for doing the experiment that we will be afraid of doing by ourselves LOL

Just an FYI. When the manufacturer isn't the same as they are in this case, there are a lot of battery adapters showing up out there which allow you to use different brand batteries with different brand tools. For example a Ryobi tool to Dewalt battery adapter can be had for around $15

Hmmmmm....those Bostitch links you provided, show that Bostitch charges as much as a new DeWalt 20V TOOL KIT, but Bostitch does NOT come with any battery or charger, like DeWalt does (in a kit form)! I can’t see buying a Bostitch tool, unless you can buy the Box Store’s display model! Thanks for letting us know!

I have seen it vary quite a bit on price. So I think it is just keeping an eye out for price changes. I use a browser add in called honey. Tracks your data (what doesn't?) but you can look up historical data to see how the price has changed in the last few months.

can you still use the bostich battery after rounding the profile?

I personally don't have any of the batteries, but I would imagine so. The spring loaded wedge is what locks the battery. So you would have a gap where it is rounded, but I would assume they would still work.

Yes, you can. But the Bostitch battery cannot be used on dewalt tools unless you also modify the bostitch battery.
