The SOCATA TBM (now Daher TBM) is a family of high-performance single-engine turboprop business and utility light aircraft manufactured by Daher. It was originally collaboratively developed between the American Mooney Airplane Company and French light aircraft manufacturer SOCATA.
The design of the TBM family originates from the Mooney 301, a comparatively low-powered and smaller prototype Mooney developed in the early 1980s. Following Mooney's acquisition by French owners, Mooney and SOCATA started a joint venture for the purpose of developing and manufacturing a new, enlarged turboprop design, which was designated as the TBM 700. Emphasis was placed upon the design's speed, altitude, and reliability. Upon its entry onto the market in 1990, it was the first high-performance single-engine passenger/cargo aircraft to enter production.
The TBM is a single-engined turboprop-powered low-wing monoplane, capable of seating a maximum of six people. It is composed mainly of aluminium and steel construction, but with the tail surfaces built of Nomex honeycomb. The wing features a very effective Fowler flap, comprising 80 per cent of the trailing edge's span, for the purpose of lowering the aircraft's stall speed. The TBM 700 is outfitted with a retractable tricycle landing gear arrangement, newer models feature stronger main landing gear wheels and tougher tyres.
The Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64 engine provide up to 700 shp (TBM700) and the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D provide up to 850 shp (TBM850/900/910/930/940).

Le SOCATA TBM (aujourd'hui Daher TBM) est une famille d'avions légers d'affaires monomoteurs hautes performances fabriqués par Daher. Il a été initialement développé en collaboration entre l'américain Mooney Airplane Company et le constructeur français d'avions légers SOCATA.
La conception de la famille TBM provient du Mooney 301, un prototype de Mooney relativement peu puissant et plus petit développé au début des années 1980. Suite à l'acquisition de Mooney par des propriétaires français, Mooney et SOCATA ont lancé une coentreprise dans le but de développer et de fabriquer un nouveau modèle de turbopropulseur agrandi, désigné sous le nom de TBM 700. L'accent a été mis sur la vitesse, l'altitude et la fiabilité de la conception. Lors de son entrée sur le marché en 1990, il a été le premier avion monomoteur de transport de passagers/cargo hautes performances à entrer en production.
Le TBM est un monoplan à aile basse propulsé par un turbopropulseur, capable d'accueillir un maximum de six personnes. Il est composé principalement d'aluminium et d'acier, mais les surfaces arrière sont en nid d'abeille Nomex. L'aile est dotée d'un volet Fowler très efficace, représentant 80 % de l'envergure du bord de fuite, dans le but d'abaisser la vitesse de décrochage de l'avion. Le TBM 700 est équipé d'un train d'atterrissage tricycle rétractable, les modèles plus récents sont dotés de roues de train d'atterrissage principal plus solides et de pneus plus résistants.
Le moteur Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64 fournit jusqu'à 700 cv (TBM700) et le Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D fournit jusqu'à 850 cv (TBM850/900/910/930/940).
