I'm waiting for my SUS to arrive. I can't wait for 4 more days! Haha. And for those who think it is ugly, I find it nice looking and I love the simplicity of it. Let's go!!

Kudos to you for demonstrating the slow flight abilities, which is where the plane excels. Many folks buy a slow flyer and then immediately want to see how fast it will go and often complain when it can't keep up with a "sleek streak" plane designed to go fast. Good video!

I had a GWS Slow stick years ago and just loved it, simple and easy to fly. A bit of wind made it a real fun challenge. Fast forward to today My old GWS is long departed so I just got the "SUS" I just love the plane, easy flier, yet capable of so much more than my old GWS. As for the price actually not bad considering the price of a lot of other foamies out there by lot of manufacturers. First thing I did was rip out the Spectrum receiver and replace it with a 6 ch. Futaba then changed the Smart EC3 ESC connector for a deans ( I already had batteries with deans) The stick does not need smart or safe. You can't get much more docile than this. It's a great plane with a wide range of flight envelope floater to stunter. From someone who is a Ugly stick, in all their forms, lover, it's a keeper.

Clearly many of you younger generations don't remember the GWS Slow stick everyone had one they where cheap and fun to modify parts were easy to get all the hobby shop carried them the motors where brushed tiny things with gear boxes power a simple esc nimh 7.2 volt battery. the GWS rx only weighed a few grams and used 72hrz crystal frequency. I had a simple 3 channel Futaba radio to fly mine. I bought the SUS slowstick and think this plane will be very popular with everyone

Why does everyone have to always talk about price? If you go back in time to when GWS was selling Slow Sticks the base kit with no motor and any electronics (the NPS) kit was just $40 for the original Slowstick you would then buy the GWS350 motor for like $29.00 and the Brushed ESC for about $29.00 and if you were flying 27mhz stuff a receiver and frequency crystal might set you back another $30 then you needed 2 full sized servo $15.99 each (the plane remember was only Elevator and Rudder) And Lipo Batteries were not even a thing yet, oh yeah forgot you needed to buy the 1247 prop for like $4.00 for a total of about $170 jump forward like 15 years and people are still complaining over $199 for a kit that is brushless smart, full 4 channel workhorse plane.

The hobby is a lot more affordable compared to 20-50 years ago! I remember when I bought my first glow rtf trainer it cost me an arm and a leg!!
@RCPlaneReviewer Жыл бұрын
People will always always talk about the price because this hobby hindges what YOU can afford. It's no different than. Talking about cars, etc.. if people don't see the value in it, then It's subjective to what they can afford and what's practical. I personally don't care about spending $200 for it even though I know its value is worth less to me. It's easy to fly and already together. People talk about price because it's also something to talk about.

Saw a few complaining about price , that’s the great thing about this hobby , for instance wanted a ultra stick saw the price tag 🏷 thought to much for me , so I built one looks exactly the same , I got joy from building it and if I crash it cost me less than a quarter of the price , that would make a great diy build , anyway off to maiden mine today yay ✌️

This model is my favorite stick I start every day this is my "warm-up" plane. It is very responsive, flies well upside down, spins, loops, acrobatics are amazing and fun. I call it my paper airplane because it is So Light Weight! The "chicken sticks" aka carbon fiber landing gear may snap or break however, $10 for 2 and they are interchangeable. You want a VERY FUN stick this is the one. I love to climb near-full height and cut the throttle and glide it across the sky catching updrafts. On a 3S 2200 I can easily get 3, 5 min + flights or more for a total of 15 (I love to bring it down after 5 and re-flight)

Hey guys! I just found your video. I had seen this slow stick come out a few months ago, and I've watched many videos on it. But, by far, your video was the most objective review that I had seen on this particular airframe. I'd love to have one of these as a fun park flyer just to play around with. What's funny is that I can probably build one of these with spare parts that I have lying around. Maybe I'll pull the trigger and buy one of these anyway. It's mot like that I don't already have enough airplanes at home. Thanks guys for putting on a great video!

If you want the SUS to fly like it's on rails (ie- fly straight in any angle, hands free & float like a glider with no throttle) the ideal CG is 120mm. The ONLY way to achieve this is to place the battery under the wing.

Thanks for the review and a quick question, i’m looking to get into the hobby I have never flown a plane yet do you think that this could be used as a beginner and does it have the so-called safe technology that can keep the plane stable while I am practicing and learning?
@RCPlaneReviewer Жыл бұрын
I think this is a very suitable option. As a beginner, it's very easy to fly, and flys slow and lands slow, giving you time to think ahead of the plane!

I would not go with the Slow Stick for a first plane because the prop is on the nose and the landing gear is easy to break in a hard landing. My choice would be the Aeroscout. At no extra charge, I would strongly suggest investing in a flight simulator (Realflight 9.5). The flight sim will pay for itself if it saves one plane. And, your best option would be to find an RC flying club if possible and connect with someone who can give you instruction using the buddy box system. The instructor holds the transmitter that actually controls the plane while the student uses the buddy box. The instructor can take control immediately when/if the students gets into trouble.

observations why has eflite made the following, stoopid, design mistakes. :40 this sort of thrust configuration should be reserved for use on a model that has a slow-flyer wing; that is, a wing that has a single-surface profile. said another way, there is a fundamental 'mismatch' between the thrust configuration and the wing type used. :41 there is tail-heaviness in the model's distribution of mass (dom). because: the mass of servos is less-than Optimally located*; bad, heavy design of vert-stab and rudder; and a tail boom that, because it is not tapered, has tail-heaviness in its own dom. the use of full strip ailerons is not recommended, on anything that is not a cropduster. * servos do NOT go at the tail.!!! the mass of wing-located servos should be located just-forward-of thirty percent of chord. conclusions: there is a significant amount of tail-heaviness in the dom of this model. and, making the nose heavier has NO affect on this condition. (in this case, the nose was effectively made heavier via wonky battery location.)
@Bill14886 Жыл бұрын
How slow will it fly , ? $200 is way to much. For that price why not buy a plane that looks like a plane.
