Watch The Launch Video On The Mule Channel: • Introducing The Workho...
The Mule Fishing Workhorse Jig was designed for light-line anglers who want to present small baits, such as the Donkey Tail Jr, Horse Fly, and other Mule products, in deeper water or windier conditions. This jig is created using a high-density tungsten resin material which will allow your bait to drop fast while also creating a more environmentally-friendly alternative to lead jigs.
The head design is a unique, rounded off bullet shape with a keeled bottom and concave back. This allows your chosen plastic to rest uniform against the back of the jig and create a streamlined approach. With the bulk of the weight focused on the lower portion of the jighead, this will naturally swim through the water and skip remarkably well when shooting docks. It will also rest flat on the bottom with most baits, but with the highly buoyant Mule plastics, it will rise at a slight angle off the bottom.
Just like all Mule Fishing products, this jig was designed with multispecies in mind. The hook size is a #6 which allows any targeted fish to take it down and stay pinned. Excellent jig for panfish!
I am so thankful to be launching this line of jigs. The Mule Jig was the first ever micro mushroom style jighead (launched in November 2019) and it has been producing thousands of fish across the country. I believe the Workhorse Jig will be a perfect compliment to the Mule Jig when the conditions call for heavier weights with micro finesse applications.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! None of this would be possible without it. Every single dollar that Mule has generated has been re-invested into this company (I have never taken a paycheck). I am proud of that, and look forward to innovating more in the future.

Oh man, I'm so glad you made a tungsten jig and also that I reread your other jig head descriptions. I try to be as lead free as I can so even though I liked your jigs I had been moving away from them due to thinking they were lead. I can live with the small amount they have it them. Love this so much and I think you'll be keeping me broke for a long time as I snag way too much lol.

Thank you very much :) Yeah the Mule Jigs still have a very minor amount of lead but I am constantly working on that. They are primarily an alloy and I hope to get them to 100% lead free in the future. Too important to take care of our waterways so I will keep working on this!

I was finally able to get out this last weekend to try out your Mule jigs for the first time. I have to say, that I'm a customer for life. I caught my PB largemouth (4.6lbs) on my third cast, with a Chartreuse 3/32nd Mule jig, and a Chartreuse 3.2 Mule Minnow. I was using 10lbs braid to a 4lbs floro leader, on my BFS setup (Shimano Sensilite rod, paired with an Aldebaran BFS reel). For the small lakes and ponds around my area in Colorado, that is a good catch, and what a fight it was. I continued to catch some decent size bass for the couple of hours I was out after that as well. Thank you very much for making a great product, and great videos. 😎

This is exciting! I look forward to picking these up on my next order, even with shipping and conversion considered your products price on par with what I have available to me in Ontario Canada but they're SO much more durable. I've placed 2 orders already and have been super satisfied with everything I've gotten. The 1/80oz mule jig in white and a chartreuse donkey tail jr has become my favourite multi species combo, at this point almost all the fishing I do is ultralight and I've been having an absolute blast with your products!

YES! Can't wait to fish these! We have a lot of fish out deep in the dead of summer so these will be killer for that. These should do perfect.

Cool new product!! I'm trying to better understand the application of Workhorse vs Mule Jig...so I know when to use them after I buy them :) You talk about better handling of wind, deeper water application, etc. But, if I'm throwing a 1/16oz Mule Jig...wouldn't that behave the same as a 1/16oz Workhorse in the wind and deeper water? (1/16oz is 1/16oz, right?) Or does the tungsten fall faster/better?
@FishAnything
@FishAnything 2 жыл бұрын
Good question Chris!! The Mule Jig in the 1/16oz and 3/32oz sizes features a #4 hook which is a bit too large for smaller plastics such as the Donkey Tail Jr, Horse Fly, and Mule Minnow 1.2. This jig features a #6 hook which gives you the ability to rig those baits up and present micro presentations deeper in the column. The head design is intended for vertical fishing and swimming whereas the Mule Jig is a bit more of a shallow water head design (although it works well for numerous presentations). Overall, I will probably use the 1/16oz and 3/32oz Mule Jigs when I am running a larger plastic (think bass fishing Ned Rigs, Donkey Tail, Mule Minnow 3.2) or if I am specifically targeting Crappie. I like the slightly larger hook size and larger head shape when chasing down slabs.

In all honesty, while I like the jigs, the hook keeper is by far the worst part. I have used them for a a while now and the hook keeper is flimsy, prevents baits from going on well, destroys small baits, splits apart, and chips first. I would either change it so that it is a smaller bend and directly attach it/ wrap it to the shank of the hook, this is especially true for the smaller jig sizes where the hook keeper pops out of thin bait and ruins them, even baby shad baits. Or I would change the type of bait keeper from what it is to a very small and thin metal ribbing. In my experience that is the best kind of bait keeper. It would really bring your jigs to the next level!
@FishAnything
@FishAnything 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the feedback! The Mule Jigs have actually made improvements on the keeper. The original launch had some flimsy keepers that didn't hold in place as well. Now, there is higher quality control and they are much more secure. I will always continue to push for higher quality and greater consistency. I truly appreciate your comments - this is how I will improve. Regarding the Workhorse Jig, I don't think you will find that to be the case at all. The quality control is extremely good and the keepers are very secure/consistent. Thanks again!
