There's so many things about this song that make sense. Like how they don't give the girl the satisfaction of the acoustic song due to the ending. Actually TBS didnt "rip off" anything. If you're referring to the lyrical simmilarities its because were taking jabs at eachother non stop. Borderline using one and others to tell one big story. Just a big ol' emo competition to see who could expose the other bands singer the best. I think Brand new won. But it was fun to watch it all go down.

Fact: Emo as a genre got it's name due to the artist crying on stage while playing music, often times sparking tears within the audience. So pretty much, Emo is just music personal to the artist, most times portraying tragedy. Jessie Lacy tells some pretty tragic tales. If people have a problem with music that isn't only about drugs, alcohol, violence, and how frequently said artist visits these vices, than whatever.
