brand new neato botvac D80 battery 0008 error

I just spent a week trying to figure this problem out on a D80 BotVac... found it discarded with a bad battery and the Home button stuck fully depressed (apparently dust had gotten lodged around the button and it was good and stuck down, I had to pry it out with a very thin screwdriver and clean the dust from the socket). Found 0.0V at battery and would not charge at all it was good and toasted, so bought new battery and still 0008 error after about 10 minutes of "charging" on the base. New battery came with barely 6V in it, but testing it after every 10 minutes worth of charging it was going up a volt each time. But Bot still would not turn on except on charger. Finally once I got the battery up to 10V I realized that holding it upside down for a second it would try to come on! WTH? Well, the connector is apparently a real PITA to plug in for the battery and I guess I was never quite getting it all the way seated.... so using magnifying glasses an LED light and a pair of fine needle nose pliers I finally got that darn plug to latch in all the way! Arghh! Then when put on charger it went right up to Full Charge with no error and sat there with green home light and Full Charge battery icon all night long. I ran it next day and it cleaned an entire room then went back to charger and again went to full charge. It's worked perfectly now for 3 days in a row, no more 0008 / orange flashing home light error! So if you get the 0008 error your battery isn't connected fully even though you may swear that it is... keep working at that connector in the battery compartment, because that's where you're not making full contact and it probably isn't seating fully. Just saying. I was about to tear this Bot apart to check the wiring inside and all the internal boards for bad caps and the like before I finally got it plugged in just right.... it ain't easy I can tell you that much!

Same problem, neato sent me a new battery, it worked for few months and now the problem is back.

Check the plug connections and pins where you plugged the battery in, are any pins pushed back
