Some freshly installed elevators at the newest shopping mall in Bali. These were filmed right on the grand opening day (7 June 2024) so all the elevators still had their wrappings both outside and inside. Despite the grand opening day, the mall itself was not 100% completed yet as some areas were either still under construction or finishing. Maybe because they're rushing for the opening date they haven't got the time to remove the wrappings from the elevators. Not a huge deal for me but for some people this can be annoying. I mean, it would've been nice to ride the elevators without all the wrappings around.
All the elevators here are typical China made OTIS Gen2, specifically the new Gen2 Premier which isn't much different than the previous GeN2-Regen model which has since been discontinued. Obviously for brand new elevators these run very well and smooth, but there were a few issues in the north elevators though, such as a glitch with the inside floor indicator where it shows "0" in a split second upon changing number, and at one time the left hand car was briefly stuck even though I've selected a floor. Perhaps the most annoying part is that crackling sound on the right hand car caused by a faulty speaker; apparently there was a water pipe leaking coming down to the shaft and hit the interphone device. And that distance between the floor and door sill on the top floor though...quite dangerous.
The south elevators are very similar except that they have different car layout and they serve the rooftop. Weird how the doors on the ground floor were blocked by sheets but not for the other floors. Didn't try the service elevators as they're strictly for workers only.
Earlier on, the right hand car of the north elevators was being checked by an OTIS technician so I couldn't film that. It went back to normal again a few hours later so I decided to film that, but then shortly after that the OTIS technician asked me what I was doing. I explained to him that I'm an elevator enthusiast and we ended up having a little chat there (he was a nice guy from Makassar btw).
On a side note, these are the last elevators I've filmed in Bali as I will no longer be based in here again starting from next year.
