Video of the Ceccato that was here before: • GONE FOREVER: Ceccato ...
Here it is, the BRAND NEW Cape Ann Car Wash in Wakefield MA!
Formally know as Flo’s Auto Bath, Cape Ann acquired this clash in June of 2021. It had/has 2 self service bays, a detailing center bay, 2 touch free automatics and a single soft touch automatic. The touch free washes had LaserWash G5-S systems, while the soft touch bay had a EXTREMELY RARE Ceccato Pegasus, imported from Italy.
In late 2019, the Ceccato broke down and instead of getting new parts from Italy, the owner decided to completely shut off the machine and only offer touch free washes. During this time, the property was starting to fall apart. The vacuums weren’t working, the self service bays were getting run down and the touch free systems are preforming horribly. They would refuse to give you the top wash and cover your car in spots afterwards.
Thankfully, the old owner sold the wash to the new owner of Cape Ann in Gloucester. That location used to have a Belanger Freestyler, but recently got ripped out and replaced with with a Ryko SoftGloss MAXX 5. Knowing that site got a MAXX 5, this one would too! And I was right! The ceccato Pegasus was torn out and replaced with another BRAND NEW SoftGloss MAXX 5! The G5-S machines were also ripped and replaced with Radius HT units.
Also, the new owner was here (he’s SUPER nice) and told me that he is reprogramming this machine to do 4 passes of drying instead of 2! The reason why is because he noticed that the double passes of drying wasn’t doing that great, so he is making the machine do 4 passes now! I’ll definitely come back to film this again to see the machine do extra passes of drying.
Speaking of drying, this is the only MAXX 5 I know of in my state that has On-board dryers! The others use off-board dryers. So this was my first time seeing one in person that has on-board dryers!
The new washes use CleanTouch chemicals, including Reflection Mirror Finish and the Ceramic Glaze.
The wash shown in this video was the $20 Cape Ann Gold Wash which included:
*Reflection Mirror Finish
*Ceramic Glaze (ColorWave)
*Wheel Brite
*Triple Foam Polish
*Rocker Blaster
*Undercarriage Wash
*Clear Coat Protectant
*Spot Free Rinse
*Turbo Dry
Wash Quality: amazing! The wash did a fantastic job and got all the bugs off. The ColorWave was watery but besides that, this was a great wash and I highly recommend it!
And yes, I did film one of the new Radius HT machines too!
