I know there is an arrogance towards farming as a career especially with the new generation but when I hear your dad talk Tom you realise how educated and tuned in farmers are. Your dad is a joy to listen to, he is adapting great to this new technology and science and understands it and still learning

Farming is a career where you will never stop learning. There is just so much to learn about the soil, the manure and so forth. I've done farm work since I could walk and every year I have farmed I've learned something new that I've never thought of before. There is still so much to learn about farming 😌 but unfortunately the governments don't always help with Learning about new and more environmentally friendly farming techniques 🥲. It's just a shame how some governments treat their farmers. In the Netherlands it's just impossible to even think about a farming career without parents that already farm.

That’s such a handy little sprayer. Keeping it simple should mean less to break down. If it doesn’t rain in a few days, would it make any sense to go over it again just spraying water? Maybe instead of calling your dad the Ginger Warrior, we could call him Laser Man. Golly, his lines are so straight(unless he’s making a heart ❤ 👍👍), it’s like they were GPS guided. Bought a jarmet sprayer a few year ago exactly like yours and for the same reasons. So handy just to get on when you want and will of paid for itself by now easily. It was £1300 new around 3 year ago. I've seen the super soil adverts on Facebook and thought about trying it myself, so will be very interested to see how it works for your land

This has been such an exciting vid 🎉Tom, back to nature as science is showing us how wondrous is our earth, our soil, our air, if we care for it feed it the food it needs and appreciate all that it can provide. I’m a happy old lady down here in very rural, simple living, NW Somerset living in a barn in the middle of a field where very soon Charolet heifers will be wandering around followed by the bull and some nursing cows and calves. Your Dad reminds me of the late great Peter Cundall, an Australian TV garden personality who was always passionate about soil health for making your vegetables grow 'marvellously'. Its like a blast from the past from my childhood watching Gardening Australia with my green thumb father. The proof was always in the harvest and we certainly never went without when we dug through a green crop over winter and put in mushroom compost full of microbes.

I so respect you and your dad‘s willingness to try new products, not because they’re new, but because they may help you farm better and more efficiently. There is no “oh we’ve never done it that way“ with you two! Your dad, wanting to choose the fields and the areas, so that he can compare the growth areas reminds me of what happens with septic fields, here in the US. You can really tell where the septic fields are, because the grass does, in fact, always grow taller and greener over them .😊

Also if you use mains tap water it’s heavily chlorinated that’s designed to kill all the bugs surely that has an effect on the land and microorganisms when watering crops ect 🤷🏼‍♂️👍🏼🇬🇬

Have been doing things a bit differently now for a while, kelp, seaweed ,hamate’s , fulvic acid and foliar applications of nutrients ect and have seen changes every year in animal health ,soil health and plant heath, don’t expect results over night but i am sure you will stick with it. I'd be very interested in seeing the long term results of this. I looked into it earlier this year but they couldn't provide any independent trial data or solid clarification on some points so I left it. I don't think there's anything in it which isn't already in a healthy pasture. The marketing has been very well funded though.

just a little tip...dont let the sprayer outside in the winter...the water will freeze in the pump and you will have problems afterwards...

i noticed over time,,when slurry is spread it attracts lots of birds does it reduce the ammount of oxygen in the soil and force the worms out As also ive noticed as ive never used chemicals on my smallholding for 30 yrs plus i get the moles dont notice them as much on conventional farms

Back in the Early 90s, I was based in Portugal and we were growing peas for the fresh market for Marks and Spencer. Daily consignments flown back to the UK for packing and distribution from Hampshire. At drilling time, because the soil was light, it was decided to add a product to the seed that was very similar looking to what was in the bag you had there. We would the dry product to the seed, is the difference with you spraying it. Similarly it was said to contain microbes that helped the peas, a leguminous crop, fix their own nitrogen in nodules in the roots. It was called; an inoculant. So this is not that new a product, an early version of it has been around for 30 years. You will see improvements as time goes by, it is not an instant fix type of thing. Thumbs up to you.

Tom i sprayed super soil on a acre strip right across the middle of a field about 4 weeks ago. I did this so it would be easy to see a difference. Sadly no change at all yet. Really hope it works but I doubt it.

It will be interesting. I bought a 1 acre pack last year and split a 2 acres field evenly in half. Sprayed only 1 side. That was around 1 year ago and I see no difference. I have taken multiple drone photos etc and there's no difference. They have spent a lot of money on Facebook adverts and they never ever reply to comments looking for evidence or studies into it

It's really amazing listening to you guys talking about the nitrogen in the soil. I'm watching a couple of Oklahoma ranchers discussing this, and their methods of seeding certain crops which are supposed to improve the soil. Do you all ever do any prescribed burns? It's a kinda big thing here, I guess. Really really good to push natural grasses. But these guys are smaller scale, bison for one, goats and alpacas for the other.

I started using a similar product in my garden and it really made a difference. The one I use has mycorrhizae added and if sprayed from seed it jump starts growth for the word go. Loving the TP & the Ginge vids, you are a great team.
