A reason for people to be mad for familiars is because its being treated as content when its not, it has been in the game for years now, they keep pushing people in levels to the high areas specially now with 6th job but the familiar system keeps preventing some people of that progression which makes no sense. Adding the Blue cards even in Reward Points could semi fix this issue because you could just farm 3 Uniques and roll until you get something but they went for the lackluster and hella over priced passes. They truly need to re think this system.

The Ride or Die mode looks really exciting, I kinda wish it was gonna be a permanent event but regardless looks hype. For the Hotel Arcus familiars, it's good in general for a good chunk of players and if the badge gives magic attack % I won't be mad at all. That said, I've been grinding on my main, and by the time we get this I'll be 285, so it'll be the same spot I was in when they added Cernium/Burnium familiars. High enough level that going back will be trolling, but I'll end up going back anyway. Those who are purely upset are probably endgamers who just want it in Carcion, and at the current pace at best we get Carcion fams in 12 months, and at worst they never come. I can see where they're coming from, though as you said it's better than them not adding any more fams at all.

It’s pretty nice to see the new familiars incoming, but honestly, it’s kind of slow, which takes nearly 4 months for a new area, and still requires around 1 year and 4 months or so, to release Carcion’s, where I am currently grinding. This system is really slowing my progression, I trained my main in limina all the time till Lv.275, when 6th job and sol erda fragments were being released, and I was forced to change the map. I could have started training in grandis already since I reached Lv.260, but because of this familiar system, I had to sacrifice both of my exp and mesos gaining due to the deduction of level difference , even though, I am Lv. 285 right now, and the best boss damage familiar I have is 20%, and I only have one( the other 2 best I have is 30%IED and 6%att), since there are so many trash lines, and multiple failure attempts when fusing them from epic to unique, were wasting too much effort. You might say “just forget about the fam and focus on something else, for now”, but the thing is, when you at the late game, you basically 22* (maybe some pitched gears left) and 12/9/9 or 13/10/10 for the potential everything, you need to endure the diminishing returns( costing tens billions mesos for 3% stats gain, and hundreds billions mesos for 3% att gain, from double prime), while I can literally still get 80% more boss damage gains in total, or more if lucky, from familiars right now. I can’t say I will be as active as right now in the future, spending several hours in this game everyday. Therefore, I really wish this sick part could be fixed as soon as possible, to make the poor luck late game players like me to catch up, and be as strong as we were supposed to be.

Im just happy. Started in limina was bitching. Alot less exp meso and no fragments at 260+ Now im done with cernium symbol still there for the familiars. Meso wise it isnt that much and experience it beats limina. I atleast get some exp now. Plus the fragments. Im glad theyre moving to the other area. Now i can farm en not feel bad about throwing away symbols

I get what you’re saying but tbh I feel like the people who stayed farming fams instead of just leveling right away at 260, just made the incorrect choice for optimal progression. On Hyperion (brand new reboot server), once I hit 260, I immediately went to level up in grandis and ditched fams. If you truly want to be end game, you should know that leveling to 290 is more important than fams. It’ll give you more damage than fams too. I do think they’re rolling out the updates slow and it should be in every area 100%. But I don’t understand when people say it griefs their progression cuz they’re forced to stay in low level areas for fams. You’re not forced to stay there, you just over value fams and don’t realize how important levels are.

No, it's just that people want the fams in all Grandis "now" and not drip fed. So they can optimize farming for fams and xp at the same time. Personally i think that they're just using it as a way to split the playerbase and avoid crowding endgame maps too much.

people are angry about ONLY hotel arcus fams being added. players blast through these levels so they have to make decisions on exp vs fams soley because fams don't exist at higher levels. If nexon is having trouble making cards for all regions they should just make a blank common familiar so people can at least farm points. The current implementation strategy (1 area every 6 mo) means that carsion is in 18 months....

Everything is power creep to a point everything is just bigger number... and games developer have to released more boss with more zeros on their hp. That’s power creep, as more and more players progress to the end you need to open new content for them to keep the game interesting/viable for them. Keep in mind that this game is over 20 yrs old and bosses like verus hilla and darknell are over 4 years old by now.
