Nice to see the Command in something other than Republic colors, it actually looks decent with a conventional cab. Still not a fan of the look of the econic cab but it looks different paired with the ZR in the WM logo. Nice finds for sure!

One other thing, - it was very handy for WM that "Rays" had the same colour bins, I wonder if that affected the price in the 'buy out', - personally I would have thought so.

Love the econic That euro horn is great. Turning radius seems good but im sure it takes getting use to that cab forward design. Regardless both are great spots. Enjoyed watching

Huh Econic ASLs have been around in Europe basically since the first release of the cab in 1998 😅 Also what do you mean with the Suez/Veolia Econics in down under? Those were all sourced brand new

The cab on the Freightliner is very similar to the one used by Dennis in the UK and Mercedes and other makers in Europe. I wonder if a lot of makes will all end up having this style of cab.

fyi the Freightliner Econic is just a rebranded Mercedes Econic, basically no difference between both Freightliner is owned by Mercedes

I didn't Freightliner were owned by Mercedes, the bloody Germans have acquired virtually ALL our Car & Truck makers. A question. How come they have the Econic's wiper blades pointing towards the left rearview mirror? Normally this is a thing in countries that drive on the left (Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, etc.). On the other hand, the long-nosed Freightliner has them pointing towards the right rearview mirror.

A lot of truck cabs position their wipers toward where the driver is seated. The Econic is RHD so the wipers point to the right. The M2 is LHD, so they point to the left.

It’s based on the side of the cab the driver sits on, in the conventional truck, the driver is on the left hand side, so, the wipers go to the left to give him the most visibility possible, this reverses on the flat cab as the driver sits on the right side. The wipers go to the right for better visibility.

And since you're telling me that, in my city there is a Mercedes sweeper truck owned by the city council of the city where I live (I'm from Spain, to finish first), which dates back to 2005, and has a peculiarity: the steering wheel is on the side. left. And I found out about that very late, since I realized it a few months ago. And the fact is that, for both side-loading and rear-loading garbage trucks, the steering wheel is on the left side; On the other hand, the sweeper truck has it on the right side. Wm has repainted about 1/3 of the old fleet and I think most if not all of the old rays trucks are getting Refurbished. Nice to know there is another rays fan out there! :D

I can answer that! Here are the trucks! Rays/Wm painted Heil pythons Wm painted labrie trucks Wm painted zrs rays/Wm painted kenworth rear loders rays/Wm painted Curroto cans 3rd or 2nd gen mcneilus autoreachs there are also a wide variety of mcneilus and new way rear loders. And a couple odd balls! I hope that answers your question! :D
