To all the my old heads that remember when hip-hop came on the scene in 1979/80 we know how to appreciate the artist and the hard work and the less money that rappers get now! And we RESPECT EACH OTHER, AND WE COULD LISTEN TO THE WHOLE ALBUM WITHOUT ALOT OF NONSENSE LYRICS.

I saw Brand Nubian perform last night with a live band playing for them (shout out to Connie price & the keystones). One of the best live preformances ever. The place was packed and B.N. had everyone amp'd! Hip Hop lives thank God! (and the gods) "I got a cannon that's bad... similar to the one that I got from my own Dad!"

Seeing this video takes me back to getting home from school and having to finish my homework by 4 p.m. to watch Rap City, for classics such as this one. Now, you couldn't pay me enough to watch Rap City, or BET for that matter.

Maaaaaan, back when Rap City on BET was worth watching. I last seen this video back in the mid 90s. I still had the flat top, box style haircut. LOLLOLO. I was a silly fool with the Cross Colors clothes. Hey, wtf,? we were fly., man. That was the vibe then, it aint the same anymore, mayne. Its almost sad, but we digress. It will come back in the 2010s decade. Peace out and 1 love, bros.

Yes. But Video Music Box is no more. It used to broadcast on WNYE channel 31, stop produccion when mayor Giuliani sold the station to a private firm in the late 90's. Now Ralph McDaniels has a more elaborate show on channel 25, focusing on old school rap videos and interviews. Very good show by the way.

His man saw it, so it don't mean shit to me. He's gone, that's how it's supposed to be..." - Sadat X in the first verse of this song. Brand Nubian wasn't always talking about guns and killing, but they did occasionally mention it. Personally, I don't give a shit about violence as a topic in music- all that matters to me is talent.
