I’ve been fortunate enough to listen to their entire line in detail and what struck me is where many monitors fall apart. They sound the same at low volume as they do at higher volumes. The mix doesn’t collapse like on most speakers, all the frequency detail, stereo imaging, etc seems to be maintained. They are truly remarkable speakers across the line…

Listening to the description of the drivers, one might think that Ex Machina developed them themselves. However, the drivers were developed by SEAS, possibly customised in detail to Ex Machina's wishes. Just take a look at the SEAS Metamodal TPCD C16NX001/X. SB Acoustics uses with TeXtreme a similar material for its cones in its Satori-Range. Nevertheless, very promising speaker I would love to listen to.

And BTW, as of mid-February 2023.... you can get ALL the monitor brands and models sold by Sweetwater.... for about 30% less money here in Europe. Amazing that pro audio gear prices used to be the cheapest in the USA. Now they are the most expensive there of anywhere. Oh, the times we are living in, eh?

Let me have digital inputs so I don’t need an unnecessary digital to analog AND analog to digital conversion. Let me bypass DSP for tracking… No latency, low latency, and full calibration. 3 modes - remote controllable so I don’t have to crawl around and hit two switches when I need to overdub something… I hope the firmware on these are update-able…

@@tthedon2471 Hi dude I think PSI I are good bur not in the same league the Bass drivers for a start are similar to entry level SB acoustics . I used to do a lot of DIY so can see why the Exmachinas do so well . Our music nearly all ends up in the digital domain at some stage . I will never own another set of ported speakers either . Ports are not needed these days better built woofers with a lot of linear travel is what it's all about . There is no excuse for a port in a flagship state of the art product . If a port is required build a better woofer .

Yeah, right. Their 3-way with the 2-in-1 mid-high combination driver on the top looks about the same as the Kali 3-way. Except that the Kalis costs less then one-tenth of the heady $7,000 price tag of the Ex Machina. "Made in Brooklyn, USA" sounds great.... just not that much great.

Well, it depends on the end user. A sought after engineer who charges $500-$1000 an hour probably has a lot more use for speakers like these versus someone who mixes/masters for a hobby/fun. Also, these would be a tax write-off for a large studio as a business expense that you can depreciate over time. With the higher price of these speakers, you also get a better warranty to back up the product compared to something cheaper. If you think these are expense, just look at some of the PMC speakers!

They'll stay in business because of the price. They cater to a very small market, so they have to build a very high performance product and add a healthy margin to it make the business viable. It's the same with things like exotic instruments, say... contrabassoons. They cost a small fortune, because the target market is so small and they are so labor intensive to make. If Kali monitors work for you, then more power to you. But I don't understand why you're so wound up about a product that you're clearly not interested in. Write some more songs dude. Hopefully you'll find some peace.
