R.I.P. Johnny Goodsall. One of the most incredible gentlemen who ever graced a stage. Thanks for decades of the finest music.

I was a (very) latecomer to Brand X, eventually arriving via my lifelong passion for Eno and wondering who on earth was this impossible bass player, Percy Jones, on 'Another Green World' and 'Before and After Science'. I'm a bass player because of him. Imagine what a great position I'm in now - sixty years old and still haven't heard half of Brand X's work! Awe-inspiring.

It's so sad that John Goodsall has passed away and Brand X is no more . It's too bad that we're losing all these great musicians and they're not being replaced , certainly not by this generation

I didn't know until today that Goodsall had passed away. That is truly sad news. I always thought he was one of the most under rated guitarists. Just incredible work with Brand X. RIP John.

Yes I totally agree with you. He is imo the better of the three or four best bassist of that time. Percy Jones is my favourite brand x member. Not biased cause I like bass I swear. Much respect to brian and Johnny. Phil Collins

Was the percussionist in the band from the "make-a-wish" foundation?
@knust23296 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he doesn't really add much to the overall sound. Pretty lame, actually. Well, he's the one who instigated the reunion. Maybe that's why he is the percussionist.
@fiberman16 жыл бұрын
I'd have to disagree with this, I've seen them with and without Scott. They are quite capable without him, BUT, he adds so much to the show and music. It's really a shame when they play without as they do if there is not enough room for the set up. Scott and Kenny play fabulously together as a team. Brand X these days is as good as it gets, hands down!
@knust23296 жыл бұрын
OK, maybe he's just buried in the mix. It wouldn't hurt to make him more audible.@@fiberman1

o mark Take a chill pill, buddy. Actually, I just thought that the original posters comment was funny. Btw, I was not judging the live sound. I just mentioned the low percussion sound, based on this recording, because that's all there is.

I'm a very big fan of Brand X. I bought the first album in 1976, and have everything else since, including several amazing bootlegs. But this is, sadly, not very good. They are trying to play music they no longer can. Time to knock it on the head lads!

Ingleprop Noosegarm 🖕
@inglepropnoosegarm78015 жыл бұрын
@@ericwood2466 This is a terrible version of a great piece of music. Goodsall and Jones are shadows of their former selves (and the 'singing' is awful). The percussionist is just making a racket and the drummer is struggling badly, and completely fails to implement the dynamics of the song, which Phil used to do so brilliantly. If Brand X had sounded this bad in 1976 I would not have got into them. Obviously you have lower standards. I urge anyone not familiar with this once-great band to check out their early albums, because this video does not do them justice in any way.

@@inglepropnoosegarm7801 of course you're right but whoever comes here already knows how good brand x is. They are pioneers of that time, members are not ordinary musicians, specially Phill, And both Percy Jones with Brian Lumley, guitarist is very good too but perhaps or imo he is the least talented in the band. Its his band tho right guys? Or was brand x made by someone else? I think I heard somewhere it's Johnny Goodsals project.
