What is the brand on their rear near the tail? Why is it added? These baby horses are muscular, healthy and well on the way to being easy with humans from previous handling. I love the kindness you lavish on them, teaching them trust and calming their fear. They are physically comforted before and during the branding and then brought back to their mothers. What could be a painful, terrifying ordeal is reduced to a forgettable brief sting. Their training is an integral part of their rearing from the start and works with their bloodlines to produce smart, gentle, reliable working horses. And they are all beautiful. No wonder these horses are sought all over the country. Respect to your family.

Probably a stupid city boy question; why do you brand foals that are likely going to be sold? Wouldn't the new owners want to claim them with their own brand (or not brand them at all perhaps)? The only thing I could think of was that maybe it's more of a "maker's mark" than a property tag. Thanks!

Freeze branding is not painless. Some people that put a freeze brand on will drug the horse so they stand still because you have to hold the iron on longer for it to take. Put some dry ice on your skin it burns like fire.
