Excellent booth, Scott! It is concise, fun and very you. The old booth was creative but this one is more to-the-point. Good luck at the con!

Your display looks awesome! I definitely like the streamlined/black/white look. You want eyes drawn to your art, not the display itself. Good luck at the con, I hope you sell a ton.

Oooh, that velcro setup is clever! I was gonna say though, make sure your portfolio is obvious and accessible. You've got a lot of text-driven stuff and you might lose sales from folks who can't get a closer look to appreciate it. Heck, I had to move to front row and advise the staff at the Otafest feedback panel to increase the font size in their spreadsheet since I literally couldn't read what they'd written down. Anyway, I hope you have a good weekend, man! The display is looking really sharp!

Thanks Eska, That’s great advice and something I am definitely implementing for this show. I have all my work in a portfolio as well as on the wall and if time permits I am going to build an easel to prop up the portfolio so everyone can see it. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}

Thanks for making this series, so much great info. I still do understand how you have attached the velcro to the backdrop. Is the fabric hanging as a curtain on the topbar, so the velcro straps are looped around the bar, hanging as well? or is the velcro glued to the backdrop fabric? And how do you adjust all this for different booth sizes? (Hiding excessif fabric and keeping a straight canvas). Maybe there is enough for a hole new video on this 😉

Thanks for watching, I’m glad you got something from the series. There’s a number of ways you can do the Velcro. I had slots cut in my curtains where I could push the Velcro strap trough and wrap around the crossbar. You could also sew a strip of Velcro to the top of your curtain and attach the vertical strips to that and place your art on the vertical strips. Just be sure to use industrial strength Velcro if your prints have heavy frames.

I miss the willy Wonka look but I totally get maximizing the table space. Definitely look forward to the after con review. It will be interesting to see if sales increase.

Even though I’m super excited about the new direction, I will miss the Willy Wonka style, but I’m not abandoning it altogether, That look will still be a big part of my videos, website etc. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}

How did you get the framed prints to stay up on the fabric backdrop? It looks amazing!
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I used Industrial strength Velcro. I stapled on side of the Velcro to the back of the frames a used the other side to connect one frame to the next in vertical rows. The top frame in each row looped around the top of the backdrop using Velcro as well.

I think your strange things characters would totally sell if you wanted to add one single element of fan art. And it would complement your regular line. But I respect the no fan art policy.
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 6 жыл бұрын
I’m sure the Stranger Things art would do really well, but I really want to focus on my own original ideas, but it is tempting. If I ever found myself in a position where I really needed to make money fast to make ends meet I may consider doing fan art. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none}

Good information and good booth ideas, but Dude you took 6 minute to get to your points. shorten your video so that more people with view it. constructive criticism.
@ScottSerkland
@ScottSerkland 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I definitely appreciate the constructive criticism and I know that sometimes I can be a bit long winded. The problem is there are two types of people who watch my videos, those who are here for quick tips and those who actually care about what I'm doing. I have to ask the question who do I cater the videos to? The casual viewer or those who are invested in the channel. It's a balance. Sometimes more view aren't as important as the right kind of views.
@Candorsmayhem
@Candorsmayhem 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not a casual viewer, but you're not respecting my time when you don't prepare your material in concise manner. Additionally the implication that only casual viewers would care about their time is silly.
