Fire extinguisher technology has indeed changed over the years. Back when I graduated high school I went to work for a company that sold and maintained fire protection equipment. Back in those days we were still refilling some off the old fashioned soda-acid type extinguishers. Many of them were made from brass or copper. Nowadays they are considered collectors items and people sell them on Ebay for $100 - $200 and up. Cleaned and polished they are beautiful. But only as decorations as due to their age the vessel may no longer be able to hold pressure and could explode if used as they were once intended.

Also stamped in the metal on the bottom of the cylinder for dp, co2 will have the stamping at the top

Wait, what? The manufacturing process starts with pre-made cylinders? Geez, Amerex. Rotating cylinder machine is badass, though. Would love to see a diagram of how that works, but I'm sure it's a proprietary secret. Edit: Ahahaha, how many lb-ft do you torque the valves to? Oh, just a hammer tap's worth!

God I hate dry chemical fire extinguishers, water, foam, CO2 and wet chemical are much cleaner alternatives

@@P25AES The extinguishers need to be replaced after 12 years but if it has passed inspection and the inspector saids to keep it, your fine.
