Brandon's story of how his mother influenced and nurtured his creativity is a great example to parents.

It's like he's a piece of all of us and everything we never could articulate in quite a way. People like this help all of us remember who we are.

I have noticed that with every interview Brandon does, he is very humble...He is also very generous with his compliments to his band mate, or even to his mangers..He never singles himself out as "Gods Gift" to everything he does... He is very kind and thoughtful with his words, and I truly believe he means every word he says...That is the vibes I'm getting with every one of his interviews when he is questioned..Since I don't know Brandon personally, I could be wrong...But I don't think so!

i absolutely love brandon,he is extremely handsome, humble and honest about the artist he is. he is a respectable person, i wish that more people could appreciate his growth as an individual and as a band member. i love that he is truly genuine, some don't understand him, but that is a personal problem.some commentors are focusing on the wrong ideas;criticizing him over petty things.brandon is an amazing artist.i love absorbing his intelligence and all that he shares from his heart.

I've been a loyal fan of this band for about 13 years, but I have never had the pleasure of such a candid interview. In my opinion Brandon is not strange at all, he's unique, passionate, and driven. It's not easy to be a performer and share one's gift with the world. Not with all these wannabe critics.

"If not now, when" is not expected from these dudes....true enough. But give it an honest chance. The honest and colourful lyrics, and the melodies really separate these dudes from so many other artists out there. There is much to be learned from these dudes and their ideas.

I'm going to throw something in here, and I don't want this to be taken in anger, as so many posts on KZbin can grow in to. Specifically this is about elhombre698's comment. You are correct my friend. Brandon is getting old. But we all are. We all grow and mature. Incubus is not what they were back in the days of their first release and that is great, because as a group they have grown and become more adult and they successfully convey, as a whole, their musical journey as individuals.

I could listen him talk for hours. What a great mind. And if you actually listen what he's saying and if you are a creative person yourself you'll understand what he means. Does anyone have a REALLY long dryspell? I mean, for example - I went to college - to do art - and I got done with college - got a lot out of it - learning will forever be an important thing. However, that drive, that passion to draw every day and do something with those skills - has been fairly vacant ... since graduating really - as though I was in a fog and I can't feel my way back to the art. A lot of that is the "real world" where I work a 40 hour a week job that is socially challenging over time and there's not much inspiration or energy that stays retained it seems to foster a creation.... maybe it's just about finding how to retain that and to get it back.... ? But for real, hearing Brandon speak about his experiences with art and music - I wonder why it can be so hard to - flip that switch (as though it's always that easy!).

Nick Nordstrom Burnt out seems about right - it's weird at least for me - it's not like I don't get inspired daily... it's just that drive - or the actual DOING that seems the hardest - OR when you do - nothing you do is satisfactory to your own self.... yeeeeeah... good stuff!

Did anyone else hear him refer to Mike as "my guitarist"? That sounded a little douchey. I think what he said about inspiration is completely true, well I guess I can only speak for myself, but that feeling of "not knowing what you're doing until you've been doing it for a while" is a great description.

i love if not now, when? in fact every album catches me by surprise:)every album positively has grown with the band incubus. the music is beautiful, but not only that lyrically i pick up on the intellect, and i get intrigued. by the importance of incubus and their outlook on life. I'm attracted to incubus because of my thinking patterns i live life constantly realizing more and more as time ticks on. we are all one, and INCUBUS!
@lyrick012711 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's entirely fair to label Brandon as a hipster. He is a very thought provoking individual, and his early life of learning to draw how he feels really contributes to the great imagery in the words he writes for Incubus. He still has the chops to pull of stuff like "A certain shade of green" which is great, but he's become so much more than that tune and is honestly talking about his journey through life.

There are several "types" of artist obviously. But a painter/drawer etc is different from a musician/writer. the typical dude that see arts... n stuff... as a cliche characteristic of "hipsters"... man, really,just don't criticize what you don't know. for some "if not now, when?" is shit, for others is a piece of art! guess who matters, incubus? i don't think so... why? because they are too bussy trying to be happy with what they do. That's the only thing that matters in life.
