Respect for the ability to hold on to your faith in the music industry. Sadly, even some of the greats of Christian rock/punk/metal have turned their backs. Men who were pioneers of actual Christian Record labels and life changing ministries...........stopped believing. After 30 and 40 years of trailblazing and sharing and changing lives........they just quit believing......everything they shared and taught and believed could and DID change lives....became lies to them😢.

Blind faith doesn’t work on everyone. I was raised catholic and very much believed it but when I was in my early 20s religion stopped making sense to me. It has become impossible to believe it… it simply doesn’t match the world I see and I’m not wired to have blind faith in things that just don’t add up. Also, a lot of people talk about Christianity as an identity rather than as a belief. Like, we embrace these ideas because our family IS Christian and we have Christian values… but I thought the point of religion was to explain the world around you, or to at least guide you here… not to to use it as a denominator. Anyway, I don’t know. Maybe it’s sad to not have beliefs but maybe it’s also sad to believe stuff just cuz it was passed on to you by your parents.

@@erikmoreno484 you have some very valid thoughts. I actually get where you're coming from. So, no offense, but I've never got really "religious" churches like Catholic, Episcopalian, or a lot of Protestant churches that follow hundreds of different rituals or pray to/or in the name of "saints." Memorizing prayers for different purposes. None of these things which have any basis in the Bible. You are 100% correct about people who actually have "Christianity" as an identity instead if belief. In fact, I was one back in the day. One day, I woke up, and like you, realized that basically all the things I grew up believing simply because I was taught it, didn't work, it didn't make sense. That's when I did something that strangely enough, way too many Christians don't do......I read the Bible for myself. Trying to forget all the "beliefs" I grew up with. It blew me away at how much I had never heard once in church and worse, how many things I believed that were wrapped up in a single verse out of context or literally no where at all. I realized that, it wasn't faith, belief, or Christianity that let me down, it was myself for as you said having "blind faith." So, now, I believe what I read for myself, what I don't get, i research multiple pov's and teachings to get an idea of a correct interpretation. If I don't find an answer, I set it aside, pray about it, and come back to it later if it seems like a true roadblock. Anyway.....I appreciate and respect your comment. I do get where you're coming from, but hope you can someday find your faith again, but grounded in truth and not "religion." Either way, I hope you have a long and happy life my friend.

People have a strong need to somehow legitimize their own faith. They often look to people who they perceive as "cool," or perhaps popular or highly respected in their field. It is sadly faulty logic. If you sincerely believe in something, the evidence of it IS your faith and not someone else's. It also leads to incorrectly labeling. It's the whole situation of people insisting that a band like U2 are a "Christian" band, when in fact they are NOT. They are a Catholic, 2 Protestants, and an agnostic whose world views occasionally color their lyrics. U2 would be much better classified as a political band. But so many people are quick to put them in a nice and neat little category that somehow makes them feel like it's ok to be a Christian because Bono is. I understand this because I have been on both sides of this. Don't take me wrong, it is wonderful when a person of faith is able to stand through everything slung at them. And if they are able to further the Kingdom, all the better, however it should never be the make or break point of a person's faith.......it is the Heavenly Father's sacrifice of his only Son and Jesus Christ's love for us and obedience to the Father and your own belief in His resurrection that will ever truly matter.
