2000 miles from the place I call home, on a missions trip, is when this song changed the way I look at music. I knew it by heart, and in the middle of an auditorium I just started singing it and found myself at the break (2:14) with a couple of friends and a few strangers with stunned faces. The message this song has is so needed in todays day and age... As Christians, we need to not stay safely in our churches, keeping to ourselves. We need to actually start reaching out to people. Those that truly need our help, but not just that, We need the Lords help in doing so. In the words of Jesus himself, Luke 5:31 says "Jesus answered them, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.'" Basically, we don't need to just minister to people who are already saved, what we need to do is tell people who may have never heard the name Jesus, people who have heard it but don't think their sins can be forgiven, or even to people who completely rejected Christ.

God spoke to me through this song. I was about to quit my job working with people who work with disabilities, after 2 weeks in the field. This song came on the radio on my way to work in 2008. The people I cared for were the ones forgotten, rejected by their families. They were taken from an institution and put into a group home. The only people they knew were staff. Thanks for sharing your story. I was suicidal at your age too and I believe that prayers from my loved ones saved me and now on my late 30s I still have mental and emotional issues caused by trauma in my teen years. What I am saying is that you are not alone, the only way out is to trust God with all your life. Pray and ask him to fulfill your needs and to heal you as needed. Might take time but He knows what he’s doing. Trust him and be patient. In the meantime do his work, read the Bible and you will find what he wants us to do here and he will take care of the rest. Sometimes is very hard to see people the way He see us...because of all the bad things the have done to us or maybe just because they dont appreciate what we are trying to do for them. But even in that situation NEVER stop showing and giving love to people. They all need it inside, we do all these good things not for them to reward us or know how good we are inside, but for HIM who everyday fills our lives with love and peace. God bless you all
