And his dad never, EVEN WHEN HE OWNED THE DAMN TEAM, did some fugazi bs like this!! If anything, Bronny should have been signed as a free agent. This is a clown show.

@@RobertLegereIIIAgreed. Not to mention Jordan was too competitive to force his sons into the league. He understood what competition at the highest level is. You think he would want to taint the heart of competition that drove him and so many other players? Competitiveness is what makes sports great to watch and what helps these dudes make it out the mud. Gilbert out here crying “why do you expect this out of the 55th pick?!” I don’t know, not like LeBron says he’s better than current NBA players, sure as hell never seen a 55th draft pick get a contract like that might I add. 4pts a game on a bad team, earned the right to be drafted. Austin Reaves averages like 15 pts on a decent team and somehow goes undrafted. I mean seriously. I am embarrassed as a Black man to see LeBron engage in this level of nepotism. Everyone hates on something till they can do it themselves. Him being picked is not very surprising considering who owns the team 🤷‍♂️

That's my frustration with Bronny James discourse. If you criticize him, they'll say he's a 55th pick and he needs time to develop, but then they'll say how's going to be great and although he's 0-14 from three and averaging 3 pts per game in summer league, it's because he's playing against lesser talent and he will play better against NBA caliber players. There's so many mental gymnastics to deflect criticism and to try to hype him up.

The 55th pick with a guaranteed 4 yr contract. That guaranteed contract is the part Gilbert conveniently leaves out
@Vennnnnnnnnn
@Vennnnnnnnnn Ай бұрын
55th pick don't matter. No matter the number, the Lakers were picking him with their last pick and no other team was going to take him because of what Rich Paul said and he just wasn't a good bargaining chip for actually winning, just jersey sales. Also, Savannah literally had a Lakers hat ready for him before it was even announced. Bronny was going to be scrutinized no matter what if he was undrafted, but at least it wouldn't be this bad where you have JJ and Rob cappin for him saying he earned it while proving he infact did not.

No he knows his son cant play but he wants the "first time ever" stat of father and son (as if that means something when you compare his legacy to others) to add to his accomplishments. He cant afford for bronny to get ill again and he cant afford to wait bc he is about to be 40 and he is 1 injury away from it being all over. He gotta get this done this year. We have to keep the same energy we had for when Lavar Ball said Lonzo was already better than Steph. If your dad says something, the kid has to cash them checks. Lebron said he could be a starter so we have to judge him for what was said.

Gil ignoring the fact the this “55th pick” signed a 4 year guaranteed deal for $8 mil … most guys at that spot are signing 2-way contracts for the league minimum and are essentially “trying out” for the team … very evident that Klutch controls all things Lakers

Funny how everyone uses Bronny being a 55th pick as a shield against his failings. He has all this hype but if he doesn't live up to it, "Well he is a 55th pick!" Meanwhile if not for his dad he might not have even been that.

The real reason why this energy is happening is because of the mainstream media is polarizing this boy as if he was a number one draft pick. We can't in one breath hype him up and put him on a pedestal and hope and pray that he turns out to be a decent player but then in the same breath wait for him to fail and say oh well he's a 55 pick
