I am a Chicago Bulls fan for life. Early 90's and late 90's was our hay day. Michael Jordan was bigger than life to me. He was like a super hero. I grew up in Riverside California. We only had access to Channel 9 with the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers games. I saw Kobe at the Forum for the first time in 1997. I told my brother,"this kid plays like Mike!". I later understood that I envied Mike but I grew to love Kobe. He was special! Mike is the GOAT. But Kobe was the resurrection. Closest thing we will ever see to Michael Jordan.

Facts. I’m from Toronto originally, spent 10 years of my life in Chitown, south loop early to mid 2000’s. MJ was always my goat, still is. But seeing Kob, it was like a copy and paste of MJ. Kobe is my top 3 all time. He was just a different animal.

I grew up idolizing MJ and everyone else was the enemy so when I saw Kobe coming up I hated him for being a copycat. Then when he came back from his Achilles I was rehabbing from a broken leg and it was inspiring to see him come back from the injury. Prior to that players were all retiring from torn Achilles but Kobe came back and almost had an MVP season. After that he became my favorite player. And to top it off he was even more inspiring after he retired with all his content creation and coaching his daughters team

Yall literally CREATE a strawman and then attack that straw man lol. (While Kobe was still ALIVE) When asked by Bill Simmons the ONE player he would most like to play with (i.e. who he thought the best player was) in an interview with Larry Legend Bird, he said :"I pick Kobe. If you wanna have fun, like I did with Bill Walton, pick Lebron. I think it would be a lot of fun. But if you wanna win? And win and win and win? It's Kobe." Shall I continue? JJ has a great story about Kobe from those practises. He said Kobe asked him to do shooting drills with him as he was a good shooter. What I hear from Melo's story is Kobe being extremely competitive and looking for a challenge like Jordan did with Kukoc. So "hate" is from a competitive point of view not personal.

Randle with the will barton story man...the game b4 he tore his achillies he blocked will in portland with his left hand on a recovery watched it live visiting SF...when i got back home to so cal....had to watch the warriors b2b game...smh. But will got his revenge and got his dunk on kob in that DEN game after those years/injuries came to pass....and watching kobe step up to cover him when he was finally a better player and not just a prospect...you could see the light in his eyes....for bringing his GAME that night...and realizing that deep into his career KOB was willing to go at him. The respect he felt as an actual legit player in that moment it was a good moment from that portland block to trying to go off vs triple OG Mamba and getting that dunk or not HOLDING back just bc its KOBE. There was a lot of respect between them in that game for sure on that court/tape DEN game. One of those you "had" a good game Shumpert moments.

NGL me and Kobe probably would’ve fought but I swear from the stories I’ve heard and the clips and games I’ve seen, there’s nobody in nba history I would rather be my teammate than Kobe. That kinda competitive fire is so rare and so beautiful to be around especially if you’re not afraid of being held accountable when you mess up

What Melo described with Kobe and JJ is exactly what the W is doing to Caitlin Clark. Like, “Oh, THIS her? She supposed to take over? Well she gon have to show me!” Mufuckas act like they’re hating on CC but they’re just showing her shit is different on this level. It’s the game.
