I have to say I had a friend 2 years ago that was really bad with drugs and Brandon’s documentary really got through to her. I DMed him and explained that if he reached out it would mean the world. He not only reached out, he called her personally and pulled strings to get her into his treatment center in Philly. He will always have a ton of respect from me for doing all of that.

@Bassmasterwitacaster2 жыл бұрын
@@maxsilbert I don't have any evidence for this particular thing, but it happens alot. People in Florida and Cali think as well, get paid for every person they can get into and through the program. I'm not sure on specifics, like if they need to complete the program or what, but I remember watching a documentary/interview of a dude that was doing that, making shit tons of money, just contacting people from his home town and promising them a cut of the money and that they can just get through the program and go back to using afterwards with a nice stack of cash. In that interview in particular, the guy stopped doing it after one of the guys he got out there OD while at a hotel he got for him, I forget what exactly happened, but it was directly the guys fault, so it fucked with him and got him to stop doing it. Probably has something to do with government funding and the more people they get into the program, the more money the program makes, so they give people a cut if their able to get a bunch of people into it, even if they don't want to get clean, just someone to take up a spot so they can receive more money.

It's one of the most beautiful things ever to see you two in the same room sober when you both should be dead. Its an incredibly powerful message to see you both working so hard to not only stay sober but specifically to help and see others help themselves as well. I hope to see a sober bam and a reboot of this podcast some day

I have tried to watch a few of your episodes but never get through them as I lose interest, this one was the first one I watched the whole way through and even teared up at the end when Novak said you helped his mum stop crying at night by inspiring him . You both are amazing guys and an inspiration to a lot of people out there. You can see that you both mean a lot to each other and truely want to help others.

Currently dealing with addiction, I’m 26 and seeing how far you and Novak have come, you’re both so happy, genuine, frictionless dynamic and this was just inspiring for young people like myself who has a hard time sometimes seeing the future ahead, instead of the impending doom behind me. Love your podcasts Steve-o and god damn I’ve been rewatching all of these just waiting for the next one!!!!!!!! YEAAAHHHHH DUUUUUUUDDDEEEEE!!!!!!

As a teenager, all I wanted to be was Bam's friend and hang with all of you. I skated, I literally named my dog BAM (RIP to my doggo), and now hearing these stories.... I dodged a damn bullet, lmfao, I was way too pure for this shit. Props to Brandon for being so open and good luck to him on his sobriety journey.

Hands down best episode to date. 2 guys that had a battle with addiction in 2 very different ways yet feel the same in some way. With the help from reading Novak's dreamseller and streets of Baltimore along with steve-O's professional idiot I managed to get sober myself. These guys give people like me hope.
