Last night, for New Year, my family were looking for something to watch and my dad suggested the Riftrax of The Shape of Things to Come because he read that Jack Palance was in it, and more importantly Jack Palance had some sort of support beam fall on his head. Every time he was on screen my dad would go “*gasp* Jack Palance!” It took him a while to realize how little actually happened in the movie, and being annoying about Jack Palance was his only form of entertainment. As soon as the debris drop happened we all cheered and turned off the movie. It’s pretty great to have this compilation get uploaded the day after.

I recently watched The Shape of Things to Come on MST3K and I remember I stopped paying attention to the plot about 1/4 of the way through and just made jokes along with the hosts. So thanks, Brandon, for making this movie slightly more coherent for me.

The plot of this movie is similar to an episode of Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century which guest starred Jack Palance and Roddy McDowell. They both came out in 1979. I doubt it's a coincidence.
