Actually he would not know that reference. He would have been frozen well before that movie came out.(1958) He knew the "flying monkeys" reference because Wizard Of Oz came out in 1939.

Saw this at an MST3K Live showing in Times Square a few years ago. For a while my dad and I would cheer "Sodium!!!" whenever it came up just because it was a running gag in the riffs.

The ending's all wrong! What they needed to do was a Deadly Spawn ending and have a GIANT brain go after them far in the background. Didn't even have to be all that realistic.

@@AgentofLADON ooohh... my thought was that this was the brain's way of reproducing. it infects people with it's young... THEN eats the young. Yes, that would be cannibalism, but it's a movie monster. At any rate the idea then goes to having the monster spawn try to establish dominance....

Fun fact: George Buza has returned as the voice of Beast for _X-Men '97._ In fact, he does a ton of voiceover work, mainly for children's animated series. He was also in a live-action television series based on the cult-classic computer game, _Maniac Mansion!_

Mystery Science Theater did this movie live, and it was easily one of the best riffs they ever did. Movie is good enough to be interesting, but silly enough that the riff material never stops.

The first time I got to know this movie was through James Rolfe's Monster Madness video. I always remember the part where he said that The Brain could have definitely been Krang in the TMNT live action movies and I totally agree! =) Then I saw the actual movie. It's flawed, but it was still a fun movie. And thanks to this video I learned that the henchman was played by the voice actor of Beast from both X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men 97', and that this movie is a Canadian movie, which I had no idea about until now.

on a side note, Beast from X-Mens voice was a pretty impressive sprinter. as always a cool review thankyou. I went straight on to watch the film haha. I'm pretty sure it was a Christmas movie...
