@@DeadMeat If you skip to the 1:10:11 time mark on the dead meat podcast episode of the toxic avenger, I believe you said to not expect a kill count of this movie mainly because of the gore content. It was kind of like when you said back then you didn’t want to cover hereditary because it was a depressing movie, but you’ve since changed your mind. I always really appreciate how much James cares about other people. While I’m not a huge fan of the sorta “offensive humour” in general, it was kinda sweet seeing James point out how 1, the characters saying and doing these things are inherently evil and (mostly) get their comeuppance by the end of it all and 2, documenting the parts of the film that were both great and not so great for those taking part in it as well as advocating for more safety measures while filming. Of course we can say “it was a different time” and all of that, but what we really need to learn from this is to approach these sorts of situations with care, to ensure that we document this sort of humour in a way that doesn’t involve making other people uncomfortable.

YES! FINALLY WE GET PROPER TROMA! Here's to hoping more of it will come to the channel, they're absolute blasts and they'll definitely fit the channel's style. James also spoke beautifully about the movie in the beginning, the team really has a love for cinema and horror

I saw most of this movie in 1985-6 at the age of 7 at my best friend's house, until we got caught watching it!....probably way too young to see it, but it definately left a mark on me! The way its delivered the graphic deaths are almost comedic! I watched it again in its entirety in college.

This movie legitimately traumatized me as a kid. Specifically the bike kill. I still have nightmares of my head getting run over to this day.

Saw this a kid in the 80s, along with every other extreme movie like Robocop, etc, and the ran over head is by far the "kill" that affected me the most. I was absolutely shook. Lol

I went to a screening of the original at the end of last month, there was Mark Torgl there along with Lloyd. Mark was the nicest person, and Lloyd didn’t let anyone pay for a signature. The entire time he was rocking a baby blue 2Pac hoodie. It was awesome.

My dad used to joke about earning points for running over pedestrians when I was a kid (my family is very pro dark humor and horror), but I never realized that bit came from this movie until I watched it in anticipation of the Kill Count. It was a fun/weird revelation.

Awesome! So happy to see Troma get on the Kill Count! Always had this up there with Basket Case and Street Trash as NY sleaze classics. I used to have a UK 18 rated version of this that ran for just over 70 mins. Seeing the Uncut version years later was an eye-opening experience! Thanks for this one, great to see some old 80s indie movies.

I watched this movie as a kid. 90% sure my parents got it confused with the cartoon. Weirdly enough, none of the violence or gore phased me. And because I had watched the cartoon, I wasn't scared of Toxic Avenger at all.

I actually saw this movies a few years ago with my old friend group since we use to have a "Bad movie night" every other month. And this movie was by far one of the best "worst" movies we have ever seen! I remember us all cheering for anyone who Toxie killed. Being high also watching this movie was also an experience. Anyways I'm glad you finally covered this movie !! Unfortunately the sequels ( In my opinion) don't have the same amount of charm to them.

This was a wholsesome episode. Its rare to find a film with a monster that the city loves and accepts. Thia film teaches us a lot about how ti focus on whats inside us rather than what we look like on the outside. We just have to ignore the brutal fatalities.
