Headed out to Extreme PowerSports of Columbus, GA for a Can-Am demo day. I picked the black Spyder F3S as my ride for the day and had a blast. Didn't expect the CanAm to have as much punch as it did. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was an all around great day!

Just a quick line to say 'Thank You' for sharing your can-am experience, I'm so looking forward to my local dealer getting new 2022 stock so I can make that final decision, to spend my childrens inheritance now or not. New clothes, helmet gloves & boots already identified all I need to know is will my beaten up body cope with the lateral forces in the twisty's. Take care fella, wishing you health & happiness.

Great video!! I'm glad you got the opportunity to ride a Cam Am Spyder. I'm on my second one, the first was the RT-S Special Series (which is like the white one the lady was riding, on mine is the same black as the one you were riding), & I have the FS-3 like the red one, but again, i've got the black you were riding. I came from riding 2 wheels ( I to had a M-109), but wanted something different, so the Spyder came up. I mostly use the RT for road trips because of the wind protection (which is excellent in the rain) & the F3 for around town. I absolutely love my Spyders, They are great bikes, & I ride with a small group of Spyder riders when taking these trips. Lots of fun, glad you got the experience I get everytime I ride.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by and giving your feedback! I really enjoyed the Spyder and could possible consider one in the future! Coming from a 109 to the Spyder is a big difference in both comfort and power. I do feel like the Spyder would satisfy my taste. It's very different from anything I've ridden, but glad I got to experience it.

I love these and cant wait to get one of my own. I love how you didn't totally disrespect the trike while riding it. I watch these videos and many youtube motorcyclists act like they're disgusted by it, because it has three wheels, cant lean, nor countersteer, has a standard foot brake, and a clutchless option. That doesn't mean its not a motorcycle, it's just not a bike. its a trike. they always say it may as well be a car, no the Polaris slingshot is more like a car.

@jakashiaalexander7680
@jakashiaalexander7680 3 жыл бұрын
@@davidjamal378 Nah bro, I'm far from an expert just obsessed lol. I just really love the Spyders because they are the closest thing I can get to legally riding a four-wheeler on the road. I haven't been on an F3 yet but I did ride on an RS-S years ago. the riding style on that one was a lot like riding a four-wheeler. You have to turn into the curb and because it doesn't lean you cant just sit in the seat in corners because you'll feel like it trying to throw you off, you have to get off the seat a little and use your body weight to lean in like a four-wheeler. this offroad channel did a review years ago and kinda explains it in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKKZXqKeeZaWi8U. No, I don't think you're too tall at all. not for the f3's anyway. i did see a lot of guys that are about 6'4 complain on long trips on the RT models All of the F3 models come with Can Am's U-fit system. You can adjust the handlebars and peg positions to fit you and/or your finding style. you can get a feel for it on their site by clicking the link. lam.can-am.brp.com/on-road/spyder-f3-fitment.html

I have a Can Am Spyder RT-S. I'm glad you are enjoying your first ride. Yes. it is different than a motorcycle. It takes a bit of getting used to. It steers more like a jet ski or snowmobile. One thing you mentioned they probably didn't tell you was how the stabilization works. Going into a curve, if you are going too fast, the bike will automatically slow you down, so in almost all instances, you will NOT tip over. It's pretty interesting when the bile automatically compensates for you. It's happened to me several times. Good riding my friend.

Great video! For you folks on the fence a test ride doesent tell it all. Dont listen to all the hype they dont handle well,hard to corner ect..no they are not like riding a motorcycle,but I would not go back to 2 wheels! Actually it takes more skill.to ride one of aggressively if you choose, and yes with a few mods and some time in the saddle you will be amazed on how it handles. Will you be able to keep up with sport bikes in the twisties,never!,but with many of the vtwins you can hold your own.The best thing is I could care less whats on that pavement,sand,oil ect..Im not on 3 wheels because I cant ride 2,I wanted a change. I did sell my bagger and now only have a spyder in the stable! Dont worry about the nay sayers,they arent jus for people with disabilities, old people,they are for anyone. You will hear from those that will say "you wouldnt catch me on one of those"..well guess what it doesent make anyone any less of a person,actually it shows you are an individual and dont have a problem being jus that!..And granted there are many people who they arent for,and for those they arent for all I can say is Im happy you ride what is right for you!..The bottom line ride what makes you happy,not what makes others happy!

Brandon, Thank you so much for making this video, my brotha. I have been riding for years (Mainly Suzie's and a little Harley) but affter having children, my lady began to worry about my safety on two wheels and the thought of losing her children's father to an accident. We seem to have made a pretty good compromise on me purchasing an F3 S. It seems like you enjoyed the ride, which was also good to see. My one question, do you feel the bike fairly carries the stigma for being for "old people"? Again, I have yet to ride one but it really didn't seem like an old people bike from your video. Thanks in advance.
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 6 жыл бұрын
You are welcome! For the F3S, I didn't take it as an old person bike. It has a very sporty look, feel and experience. I think you and your lady will enjoy the F3S. The others I pointed out in the video are worth looking at too. If you're doing just around the city rides here and there the F3S sounded like the move for you. I really enjoyed riding the F3S and would consider one over 2 wheels.

Ha, Brandon .... All y'all know that the designers of the Can Am, would be messing with your mo-jo when they put bike bars on it to steer with..... Push right ... go right..... Way wrong !! lol. I see the Spiders on the road around here, and I think... "what were they thinking...." Things I would change up are .... Bow-tie steering wheel, with hand brake lever and a clutch lever in the std positions. Foot shifter. And.... the front wheels would lean proportional to your steering twist, so that the rig leans as you turn, instead of trying to Hi-side you. The Bow-Tie steering would stop you from mentally conditioning yourself to either one or two wheel steering as with Beach bars, etc....My Fave adage I say to Spider riders..... "Hey!, you are riding your trike in reverse". LOL... Stay safe !

Would you recommend leasing a brand new one or buying one that is 3 years old or so? I think I'm coming down to Georgia to buy mine everything in the south seems much more affordable supposed to up north. Would this spyder fit inside of a ford f 250 cargo van?
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 4 жыл бұрын
Of course it all depends on your finances and if the numbers work. I've always either bought used or new with no intent on replacing the bike with a new one. If you plan on taking it to the shop for work, I'd call the local shop in your area to see how much a maintenance plan would be to cover all servicing. Lot of dealerships give deals on that versus paying more up front for one servicing versus all servicing up to xxxx miles. Not sure on the dimensions but it's probably twice the width of a cruiser and maybe 20% wider than a bagger.

As you mentioned the Cam is not a bike. So it's always hard to remember that when your out riding one, because you want to ride it like it's two wheels. I have a friend that rides one, and we take 8+ hour rides to Boston Mass. After seeing him ride on the highway, he gets beat up from the wind. mostly because he has the sports model and has no windshield. but also when he hits the curves at a high speed, he is battling to get the ride into the curve. unlike on a regular motorcycle you countersteer and you flow into the curve and out of it. they do have cruiser cams for a better trip, but remember it's not a regular bike.
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I kept getting my words mixed up. It's a different kind of ride for sure. Having the force try to pull you off when turning will creep up on you if you aren't prepared. I honestly didn't have too much issue with the wind, but then again, I didn't take it on the highway. Either way, it was a good experience. I would consider the sport model and maybe even a touring model if I got one.
@jhunt8502
@jhunt8502 7 жыл бұрын
ooh I hope you didn't think I just had one comment. lol but I finally was able to see your GoPro set up. how it's set up, do you get a lot of drag from the wind? also your sling bag, is it a kriega? if so how much stuff can you fit inside. Now I am done with my questions/comment. haha
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 7 жыл бұрын
Lmao! How could I be so naive! It does drag sometimes, but it depends on what bike I'm on. I think it drags more on the S1000 since there's no windscreen or mirrors on top. The 109 cuts some wind with the mirrors and headlight cowl. I got the Kriega EDC Sling. I debated on whether to get the regular sling or the EDC version since one had the rolltop design and the other zippers. I can get in and out of the EDC version quickly if I need to use my camera. In this video, I had 3 GoPro batteries, Panasonic G7, extra G7 battery, two power bricks, phone charger brick/cable and a few more cables. Fits a good amount of stuff. You have to strategically place stuff in the bag, though because the material doesn't give at all.

I wasn't used to that pull you feel in the curves. Very stable machine, though.

Chad Sutherland Thanks for watching! And me not being used to turning the spyder gave me that tip over feeling. With experience that would go away. Enjoyable ride, though.

He needs to stop saying it will tip over like it will easily tip! I own one and once he learns how to properly ride it he won’t feel that way! When he is approaching the turns more aggressively he’s not leaning when you turn aggressively you need to lean your weight to counter that feeling that you might tip!!

I had a F3-S for a couple of weeks and I really didn't like the Cam-Am. The sound of the engine suck and very whiny.
