This was a wild experience, I spent 6 hours over the course of 2 days walking around and interviewing people in Skid Row. It's worlds away from Hollywood, which is only 7 miles away. What do you guys think can be done to help the situation in downtown LA? What is the government doing wrong with the way they are handling it? It’s getting really crazy ! You don’t even have to be in skid row to see this now. I went to fairfax highschool for the flee market and less then 100 feet from the front of the school was a homeless lady pissing on the street. Cops everywhere but nothing was done. Just how it is at this point.

But I got a feeling that the rich and powerful don’t care and there is no money to be made with drug counseling and mental health programs. The money gets siphoned off by a rag tag group of private organizations and non profits as well as religious groups which infers this would cause a lack of funds available to the people in need. 2. You can’t help pécho don’t want to be helped. Both can be true meaning a lack of funds and some who are not interested in changing their lives at this time. Mental illness and addiction can make one not aware of their own needs so it’s a mess.
