Haha I see your enjoying having to mess with the new short blanks for the Mosins they always either nose dive in the mag or go in to low I hate them so much if you angle the gun up and eject the round and load another one really fast in one fluent motion they actually feed
@BrandonF7 жыл бұрын
It rather ruined my ability to feed the rounds quickly, with my rifle constantly wanting to rimlock. I will be sure to try that method at my next event to see if it helps, though!
@stevenchunn35907 жыл бұрын
Ya when you cycle it relatively fast and do it smooth you know in one motion don't stop the bolt they usually feed but short blanks are short blanks so they still jam

I've noticed that when shooting live rounds in mine it cycles best when I do it quickly.

Soviet is generally one of the cheaper impressions, at least for just a basic kit, and you can probably have something put together from around a thousand dollars or a bit less. There are a lot of WW2 events around the Midwest as well. I can forward you some more personalized info if you send me a private message! Ive never been to a reenactment so im curious, what are the rules of reenactment death? Are you told if you are a person that is going to die, or are you bound by rules that determine death?
@historyarmyproductions5 жыл бұрын
They are only required if you come up to say a Machine gun, But mostly they are Up to the Whims of the Reeanactor Himself, If he is tired per say, or Just feels like it would make the battle more realistic, But, I have heard at Some private Events, You will be told to take hits, But I am not Certain.
@hpa2005 Жыл бұрын
Not a reenactor myself but the best answer I've heard to that question is that its up to the person. These guys are on the honor system when it comes to the public "battles". The reenactor I heard the above from also made the comment that the blanks used produce a bright enough muzzle flash for the reenactors to see and that if they see a weapon pointed in their direction and if they know its a believable distance they will "take a hit". Another answer I heard, which pertains more to Civil War reenctors, is that during a charge or if there is a volley fire from one group to another, who ever the commander is will shout out a random month and who ever has their birthday in that month takes a hit.
@retrocat11 күн бұрын

Just wondering, have you found it less expensive to do Soviet WWII reenacting compared to British American War of Independence reenacting? I've always been interested in reenacting and I already own a Mosin Nagant 91/30 so i was considering maybe trying out reenacting on the Soviet side.
@BrandonF6 жыл бұрын
It is immensely less expensive, yes! My entire Soviet kit (which, admittedly, is very barebones and I need to purchase many new items for it, but it's enough for me to take to the field) has cost me probably a quarter as much as my British AWI impression has. Soviet is generally seen as a 'cheaper' impression, but it can also be fairly pricey if you do it properly. Nothing in this hobby is truly "cheap" after all!
@Raptus_Gaming6 жыл бұрын
Yeah none of my hobbies seem to be cheap lol. But from what I've seen too with the pricing, Soviet WWII gear is pretty inexpensive compared to some. I know there are apparently a few reenacting groups in my state (WI) that do Soviet impressions (416th Rifles is one of them) so I plan to get ahold of them sometime soon. Thanks for the response by the way, loved that Red Army drill video you did xD can't imagine getting chewed out in Russian.

@BrandonF7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I am carrying the 1891/30 Mosin Nagant rifle. And, they aren't normally that difficult to cycle through, mine was just not lubricated properly for this event and was jamming more than usual, so I was trying to be careful/slow with the loading. I will try to be a little faster next time, so you can see what it looks like properly! I think I should be able to make it to this event again this year, at the end of April.
@dimvalsgames97217 жыл бұрын
Great.!Btw now that i remember it the Mosin is loaded with bullet after bullet like u show us if i remember corect like the WW2 US version of the Springfield rifle or your Mosin is custom made to load like this or something.?

It is possible to use a stripper-clip with the Mosin (where you can load all the rounds into the rifle at once) but I didn't have one at the time, and they can be rather difficult to work without jamming the rifle.
