@@FirstDagger I wouldn't say a M1 garand won the war lol regardless of what Patton said about it. It was a good rifle period. Germany had just as good of semi auto rifle designs the problem was they didn't have the resources the US had. And on top of that by 1943 the resources they did have were of very low quality thanks to not having acess to good iron and steel anymore. The real reason we won the war is not a rifle lol but we out produced them and Germany had to fight Russia in the east as well. Plus the STG44 is better than a M1 garand and the m2 in most ways that matter, hence why the design was copied by so many others and the m2 and m1 were not. I argue if d-day happened with a prepared German force that was not split in 2 fronts it would have been a utter failure.

Due to its high rate of fire, the MG15 was one of the first machineguns to be fitted to Luftwaffe bombers used during the Spanish Civil War and the early days of WWII. It was mostly phased out by 1942 (the advent of the MG42) but it remained in use on light bombers and some older aircraft. The MG42 was eventually replaced as well by the MG131, a larger and heavier 13mm machinegun, in most German aircraft by 1943. The MG15 saw continued use in the German Army mostly as a reserve weapon while the MG42 was the primary light machinegun for the remainder of the war.

@@Patriotgal1 Well, the MG-42 is, in a derivative, still used to this day by the german Military as the MG3 so, I suppose on a purely engineering standpoint it is basically the German M2HB, just in different caliber. I sadly never had the luck to shoot an MG, or any gun really outside of videogames(tho H3VR does make up for that...kinda), due to European weapon laws, but even shooting those guns in Videogames will get...considerably worked up...

@@LunaNicoleTheFox The MG3 is currently getting phased out of the german military. It is a fine machine gun but not a very good one for infantry because it was build to be interchangeable between, planes, armored vehicles and infantry. The German Army in early 1944 made an official decision to replace the MG-42 as a squad weapon by replacing every weapon in the squad with the StG 44. The MG42 was to be moved up to Battalion level. Typically 3 men in the 12 (10-14) man squad were involved in operating or supporting the MG42. The NCO who lead the squad often had an MP40 and that would be replaced by a StG 44 as well.

Allies may not have had the best weapons, but they did have the overall best concentration of effective weapons. For example, every infantryman in the US Army had an M1 Garand unless his job required something else (that usually had more firepower). Russians had SMGs to go around too, plus plenty of their own self-loading rifles. At the squad level, the only significant advantage for the Germans was the MG42, which they had quite a lot of and used well. And maybe the MP-40. Otherwise, it's Mauser bolt actions for them in overwhelming quantity.
@lovepeace97274 жыл бұрын
German infantry mostly was armed with bolt-action rifles and one SMG per squad. MG-34 and MG42 were their only saviours. Soviets (after 1942) and Americans (also after 1942) were armed significantly better. Soviets had highest percentage of using of full-auto guns (and #2 in terms of semi-auto usage) while USA was giving M1 Garand basically to everyone (USMC was fully rearmed only in 1943 but still), while also giving up to 5 (!!!) lmg's for squad. USA and USSR had hella more firepower even if german MG was up. And if german LMG gunner got smoked...

I don't think that's a good idea.

@@omarabe26, .. its a fantastic idea, but for intimidation and definately NOT actually hitting anything further than 5 yards away. I would recommend strengthening your upper body beyond average though and keep a panicky tight grip.

We learn this with the sucessor of this gun. the MG 3. the only thing that really changed is the bolt so that it fires a bit slower and barrel melt less often kek

@jochentram93013 жыл бұрын
@@omarabe26 Perfect for area suppression on the advance. Admittedly useless if you want any kind of accuracy . . . but then, when you're putting down 20 rounds per second, you don't really need to be that accurate. And if you want accuracy, put the thing on its tripod. Three-round centre-mass bursts at any range out to 600 metres, without ever raising your head above the sandbags.

The Germans were so ahead of their time, especially when it came to atomic energy, rocketry, and jet engine-powered aviation.

The Germans quite literally launched the US rocket & NASA programme due to their engineering expertise. If you go look at old NASA administration photos of top management you'll see the Nazis with scars in their faces in the pictures. These scars came from the Nazis dueling with swords in their spare time back in the day

@War Zone interesting, but i dont believe it for one minute. If they had the means to go into space, they wouldnt be cataloging it on stones using a hammer and chizzle

Germans used Infrared scopes and searchlights for their Panthers and Halftrack MGs too. The Sdkfz 251/20 had an Infrared searchlight that can detect and illuminate enemy T-34s from more than a kilometer away. They also implemented Infrared scopes on their STG 44 rifles for the Nachtjäger.
