Watch the trailer for 'The Truffle Hunters'. It's about 90-95% locked off tripod shots and it's glorious, feels like an absolute secret special treat to watch. The humanity of it all resonates through the screen. It's a beautiful counter argument to films always needing camera movement. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXe8maWZZaahjNk Neither is the 'right' way, both are valid. It's just very beautiful to know all methods when creating art.

As a storyteller, I like my camera movements to be motivated unless the unmotivated ones cover necessary story elements. I literally just had a lesson with my students about how to shoot static subjects and one of them was to move the camera. So this was really a treat to see.

Hey Brandon, great video. I have a question about gear safety when filming aboard. I travel solo for the most part and one of the initial obstacles I always have is when I go into a new place, I’m hesitant about taking out my gimbal and camera and setting it up. I’m always aware of my surroundings but after I familiarize myself and go there a few time is when I get more comfortable with setting up. What do you do when you are filming solo at a busy market or a new place during the day and night? Do you try hire or get someone local to follow you around; or watch your gear in one place while you film around that area. or do you just carry your backpack with you at all times? Any tips of gear safety or how you pack your gear for a daily shoot? Thanks!

Hey, just wondering if you have ran into any problems with autofocus tracking recently on your a7S III. I have ran into lots of pulsing and jolting when tracking during video. I have been experiencing this about half of the time, regardless of the speed and sensitivity settings. I have spent countless hours speaking with the people over at Sony. Plus, I have been talking with a few other people that have this camera and they have said that they’ve been experiencing problems like this ever since updating to firmware version 2.00. Have you ran into any of this while shooting? Thanks.

I love the bokeh but it is not enough for an A7III and quality lenses. I love Sony but their prices are too high for me. So I'm on the fence between Sony's apsc or Canon EOS RP fullframe, which can be fitted with cheap lenses and even a 50mm. 1.8 very cheap native. What is your recommendation?

If we cut out unmotivated movement. Then half of the cinematic possibilities would go thru the window. But then he himself says unmotivated shots are also used all the time and they actually add energy and dynamism, so then the point of this video is ?
