@@VersionOneUK Cool, 'cos I've always had to rely on looking at my GoPro once back in the pits to find out timing. GoPro solidly mounted to the roll bar, by the way, with a secondary tether. No longer going on track in real life myself but managed a 55.05 round Brands last night in an MX5 on my sim on iRacing. To be fair to your excellent time, it was the latest 184hp ND race version. Please just be careful when timing live that you don't push yourself outside of your own or your car's abilities to get down to a particular time. Therein lies potential pain, especially if the track has different levels of grip or your tyres or brakes are more worn next time you're there. Enjoy!

@@demon1954 oh the car definitely had more in it mate, we only got 1 clean lap! The tyre's were AR1's so there was plenty on the table as far as grip goes and the clio was on rails around there!

surprised marshals didnt have much to say about the timing gear, all the T+C's state no timing aloud on track days like this (instant refusal to take part etc). I guess they made you put the box away, but visible lap timing im surprised by honestly. glad you had fun either way.

So was I! They said nothing about the other bits but my go pro was an issue, even though the mount is ridiculously strong! 😂

Look out the stigs here!! 😂 I don't know mate but he managed to do under a minute on his first outing here in a clio with standard power so he did alright i think, especially seeing as there were way more capable cars there not doing that

@@VersionOneUK please don’t take that as a negative comment. I’m just saying if he changed his driving style with his steering he would have better car control and faster response times in steering input if needed. Especially going down paddock hill, I’ve seen so many spins there and I don’t think he would be able to catch it in time with the way his hands are on the wheel. The last think I want too see is him ending in the gravel like lots I’ve seen. I’m definitely no stig and my car is way more capable than I ever will be. 😂

@@C.O_Racing I'm only joking mate 😂 he's not done many track days currently so i guess he's trying to be overly smooth etc That was also his first time at brands and for an open track day it was REALLY busy so i reckon he definitely had more time in there too

@@VersionOneUK I was actually there that evening. I was sharing my mates silver bmw m3 with the orange wheels in your video. Brands can get really busy, believe it or not that was pretty quiet compared to some days I’ve been there. Your mate did well to get under 1min on his first go. If you ever see me on a track day feel free to come over and say hi. I don’t mind taking you around too if you wanted.

The lap timer your using thats mounted by the gearstick, is it an app on a phone?

It's draggy mate. The module is up in the top right on the dash for the signal and basically the screen is literally just a heads up display with live feedback etc 👌
