Indeed… sometimes a rare sight around railroad tracks, it’s not often you find a hi-rail truck.

Believe it or not, there are mobile cranes that are hi-rail, usually used by CN Rail. Tow companies could even own 100 ton cranes on rails called the Holmes RC10. Along with other models such as the RC 60 and RC 75.

Some maintenance machine are equipped with horns/ siren for added safety warnings for drivers who are approaching the crossing, since M.O.W. Equipment are slow moving at times… the siren or the horn is blown to warn drivers that the machine is approaching. Great question.
