Prachtig om dit te zien. Het teamwork begint al ver voor de daadwerkelijke hulpverlening. Samen door het verkeer zien te komen en de chauffeur van nuttige informatie voorzien om zo snel mogelijk door het verkeer heen te komen op een veilige manier. De chauffeur kan zich zo concentreren op het rijden an sich. Een goede chauffeur in mijn ogen ook trouwens. Het zal niet meevallen soms in de drukke binnensteden en smalle straatjes. En 100 punten voor de Martinhoorn :-)

Vraag me soms wel af waarom de chauffeur wel ern navigatie heeft. Maar dat hij instructies krijgt van iemand achter hem. Verder erg goed om te zien hoe het overige verkeer reageerd.

Soms vermoedelijk omdat de navigatie niet per se op de hoogte is van een omleiding of werkzaamheden, maar vooral ook omdat het duidelijkheid schept: Als de bestuurder denkt dat hij ergens rechts zou moeten en hij hoort 3 maal "Rechtdoor!" dan weet hij dat zijn idee van de juiste route in ieder geval niet klopte. Het geven van route-instructies is deels ook voor de manschappen bedoelt: bij rechtdoor van tevoren weten die dat zij zich nog even verder aan kunnen kleden als dat moet, terwijl ze bij een tweemaal "linksaf!" of "rechtsaf!" beter even vast kunnen houden. Zo hoor je ook wel eens van de bestuurder: "Hobbel!" en dat vervolgens herhaald worden. Iedereen in het voertuig weet dan wat er de komende seconden te wachten staat en kunnen zich daarop aanpassen.

In some emergency vehicles next to doubling the speed the sound pressure is also increased by either switching on more amplifying power or an extra set of speakers or more air pressure for the horns. Naast wat 112 Hulpdiensten Zwijndrecht inderdaad al zegt, heeft het waarschijnlijk ook te maken met de situatie voor de mensen achterin die zich aan het aankleden zijn: als die horen "Linksaf, linksaf!" weten die dat ze zich even moeten vasthouden, terwijl het bij "rechtdoor!" kans geeft je kleding verder aan te trekken mocht dat nog nodig zijn. Je hoort soms ook wel eens "Hobbel!" van de bestuurder, wat dan door 1-2 man herhaald wordt. Het geeft gewoon de nodige duidelijkheid onderling, en je verzekert dat iedereen het gehoord heeft.

De normale claxon zit inderdaad gewoon links op de hendel. Wanneer de sirene aanstaat is deze claxon de knop om de versneller van de sirene mee te activeren en hebben we geen normale claxon die we kunnen gebruiken daarom gebruiken we bij een prio 1 rit vaak de bull hoorn om meer aandacht te vragen bij kruisingen of drukke situaties.

It is completely unnecessary to have a road that is 60m wide. Also any driver is able to use that road, Dutch license requirements are quite strict.

Training, for the most part, and on the bigger vehicles like the high-rise ladder truck a little help from countersteering axles in the back (without a tiller, to be clear). Sometimes they get stuck and if someone doesn't come out quickly to move their vehicle, well, they hit a mirror or a car sometimes. It is one of the reasons there's driver training for fire brigades in which you are driving towards an imaginary fire just to learn how it feels driving with the siren on and having road users make clumsy decisions based on stress while trying to respond to you as a fire truck in a hurry. Next to that, some brigades regularly head out into the neighbourhoods with their smaller and bigger vehicles to see where vehicles might be parked illegally, or in case of a redesign of a street, where it might require some extra or new markings in order to stop people from parking in a particular spot that would make it impossible to get through for the fire brigade.

It indeed means a gasleak or a possibility of one. Also, a housefire typically is mistaken to be externally visible, while generally, for a housefire to be raging that bad, it has to have had the opportunity (especially in more modern buildings) to grow for quite some time. A house fire mistakingly is expected to produce smoke pouring out the windows, which, if that's the case, the inside is probably already a lost cause and the only thing you can do is limit the damage to surrounding homes or parts of the same building. There's a different video from the fire brigade in Rotterdam where they respond to a house fire and you can hear their surprise and worrying comments when upon driving towards it they can see the smoke pouring out from the home in question. It's basically something like "Noo way!!! Look..." Person in passenger seat to the back: "You see that guys!?"
