She has the perfect blend of raspiness, darkness, and sweetness in her voice and her runs and harmonies are insane!!!! One of the best and most humble singers ever

Brandy grew up in a very unique Acapella church in Mississippi and then LA. So, often times she’s almost even more comfortable singing without accompaniment. Her ear is stellar!

Whitney had me rolling with "why are you down there" 😅 I didn't really understand why back then but now I do. Even though she's already an impressive vocalist Whitney could hear that she has a lot of untapped potential with the upper parts of her range however she rarely utilizes it.
@natsohigh555210 ай бұрын
She does utilise it. Just not on lead vocals. It's all on the background.
@nopebih10 ай бұрын
It isn’t untapped potential. It’s just a complete disregard and dislike for her voice. Brandy has hit every single note Whitney has ever sung. Her voice is just more youthful. That’s the only difference.
@yourhighness23849 ай бұрын
@@nopebihyou telling lies now. She has definitely not hit every note that Whitney has.
@nopebih8 ай бұрын
@@yourhighness2384Yes some of us actually study music theory. Whitney had a dramatic voice meaning it was heavier. Brandy has hit every single note Whitney has ever hit. There’s proof all on KZbin. People don’t understand music or vocal theory and misunderstand her lighter voice.

Jazmine is great but Brandy does a whole lot more with her voice melodically and with the way that she approaches singing whether it be with the tone she chooses, the dynamics she chooses, her vocal placement and nuances, text painting...etc. She is just a different type of singer.

She is incredibly skilled with riffs and runs but at times it seems like she riffs and runs in every line. Most of the time, there's impressive musicality but at times it detracts from the song (the message and emotive quality gets lost).
@Realviews60311 ай бұрын
@@GarageStudio7 Brandy is one of the few artist who uses riffs and runs masterfully all through her discography. That's one of the many reasons why she is one the most celebrated vocalist from her era. Her versatility is unmatched!
@GarageStudio711 ай бұрын
@@Realviews603 Oh, there's no doubt that she's one of the most agile vocalists in mainstream music but with everything, at times too much of something can be detractory. Maybe it's this specific compilation of clips that makes it seem like she riffs and runs in almost every line and at times it doesn't complement the ingerent emotive qualities of the originals of some of these songs.
