I'm a grown ass man, but the second half of Act IV brought me to tears. What started with huge lore bombs and a cool "war mode" turned into a catastrophe. Death, fear, horror, corpses. I realised I'm deeply emotionally attached to this game and its world. Looking forward for the resolution of Natlan's arc in 5.3 I'm typing all this just to thank you for being actually *invested* into the game's story and the lore of Teyvat. You're the only one of the few CCs on KZbin I know who prioritises it over everything else. Maybe the game doesn't grip you emotionally as much as it does me, but I am not talking about your emotional reaction here, so thank you nonetheless Rest in peace, Chuychu and Vichama

Not necessarily an opposite confirmation. Him previously having the "light element" might be a reason why he could use the 7 elements (i.e. he has an innate ability to use the sub-parts of his original element), which also comes back to your first statement that he might need all 7 elemental "parts" to regain his original power.

So the Traveller is doing the reverse of what the Heavenly Principles did. They broke down the Light into 7 different elements, while the Traveller is merging the 7 elements back into the Light. Makes sense.

Personally i am now even more curious about the breaking of corner of world in fight with descender. maybe it was the third whose remains were then used to power archons. The first descender who started it all and heavenly principles' actual relation to them. Then the even more curious part is how was natlan worst affected and how kharnriah that used to house descenders is related to this. Also it seems like sustainer was the supplier of descenders to khaenriah.

Fun fact: Many of the cutscenes you'll get during the war segment of the quest may be completely different from other peoples' depending on where you choose to go and how long you take to defeat the enemies. There were some cutscenes you got that I never got to see.

Okay but I literally love brans reaction to to this quest, he didn’t make too many jokes during the war and paid attention to all the details and npc dialogue, he didn’t rush through the quest like others I’ve seen, he could actually feel how tragic it was, that’s how I felt when I played through it the first time and got 2k deaths. Not to mention him putting away his chat at the very end which was worth it so he didn’t get spoiled about the fake sky. He even went back to find the fake sky afterward. 10/10 (also he voiced kachina perfectly 😭✨)

So basically after mavuika use her power, the natlan on the surface become like night kingdom and people can get resurrected and can talk to each other like discord call. You can contact everyone in the map during that time even the Captain just for more immersion.

I want to point out that there is no particular reason for in-game characters to scream out of excitement about fake sky lol. If you told me that Earth is indeed flat and cosmos is a lie, I'd be like "fine, I guess", especially right after thousands of people lost their lives

True, honeslty i think it got patched quickly, so the people couldn't see anything because it was blocked by the smoke and abyss retreating. Patched quickly but not fully, so the wound still there (the dead moon sister)

@@Nick-tz3ke Also, as Mavuika said the threat of the Abyss is still not defeated. It's still in the Night Kingdom trying to recover from the loss on the surface. Even if the fake sky revelation was big (which is for us but not necessarily for the people of Natlan or Mavuika), they have far more pressing matters such as eradicating the threat of the Abyss from the Night Kingdom once and for all. We'll deal with the fake sky once Natlan is saved completely (same way we ask the Archon or other important figures questions AFTER saving each nation)

I just realised , Fontainians seem to be the most…i’d say doubtful because Before the Disaster in Fontaine , People started doubting and going against the Hydro Archons Plan , Lowering her self-esteem to protect the nation. But In Natlan its the exact opposite , they were willing to fight against the abyss until the end, believing their archon can defend the nation ; I honestly love The Natlanese , They’re so energetic and Lively.

People are trying to defend it but yes it’s a cultural difference between Fontaine and Natlan Mauvika never showed that she had a plan, she simply told her people to trust her and they did even as the Abyss attacks got worse. While Furina also did the same but her people started mistrusting her as the prophecy continued to progress Mauvika and Furina/Foclaor were both hiding plans from their people that pushed the trust of their citizens but the real difference is that Mauvika is a known human and so the people of Natlan understand that she is flawed but the people of Fontaine would only accept someone inhumanly perfect as their god and as such they turn on Furina as soon as she doesn’t seem perfect

For the dead count part if you dint do anything in that section and let the abyss invade, the dead count will keep go up as time go. In CN got ppl post a dead count that goes to 90k above by just leave the character do nothing.

So far, with everything that happened in Fontaine and all, their rules and their secrets are now being threatened again. Yet...they're "asleep"?

As a non native english speaker I notice that english isnt very compatible with other languages especially when you try to translate sentence to sentence like for s video game dialouge scene (basically sometimes a line in german for example may need 2 to 3 lines in english tobe translated well and vas versa). Especially when you try to translate it in english to sound fluent unlike in the UN meetings for example inwhich the translators are trained to just translate the talking in real time but no need for it to sound very fluent (like good grammer..etc) only to reley the information accurately. In a story game especially its hard to find a balance between fluently (so player stays immersed) and accurately so lore stuff doesnt get completely butchered.

Act 4 had me feeling like Kiritsugu Emiya during the Fire of Fuyuki. Rushing all over the place trying desperately to save anyone only to barely be able to save more than a couple people each time. I was in despair when I found the mother and daughter hiding under the stairs, and overcome with guilt at the sight of the dead warriors and Saurians. Hell, I found out from Arnold’s chat that I accidentally got the Fatui and the supply caravan going to the People of Springs killed by not telling them it was too risky to go. Act 4 was so good

If you go rescue fatui soldier. And then talk to Awhina as the optional choice. The want to go deliver medicine to the hot spring. If you choose "fatui can escort you there" - you will found her body, lifeless next time you get near the hot spring for the final battle record. If you choose "wouldn't risk it". She will head to the stadium and survive through the war....

I think MC will somehow obtain the Gnosis and then rematch against Capitano for it. We have fought every Harbinger so far, so there is no way we won't battle with Capitano. And the Gnosis will inevitably end in Snezhnaya. And we will have to acquire the Pyro powers at some point.

In other words: FVCKING CTHULU. we're getting cthulu lore in genshin. In ggz lore, Yog-sothoth was an outer god that was MILES stronger than any Aeon. This was a being who was responsible for not only _creating_ Imaginary trees, but was capable of creating MULTIPLE Imaginary Trees _at once_ and can make it all go away in a milisecond. She can make and destroy a Sea of Quanta like it's nothing. In terms of power scaling, (aside from the hi3 captain, but that's a whole other topic) Yog-Sothoth is currently the most powerful being within the HoyoVerse.. and it looks like we're dealing with them in genshin.. bro im not kidding when i say im terrified of what's about to be released when it comes to** lore in genshin in the next few years

At the lowest points of the war (the balloon ride going infront of the sison of canaby home) and seeing all the disaster, I was just doubting that choice over and over. Intill the sudden turnaround which made it suddenly feel all worth it. Gonna say it feels like excellent writing when the even the reader starts to doubt whats right from wrong anymore even if they in reality aren't part of the fiction and have no real stakes on the matter.

Crazy the fact that base on our decisions and which area to go would drastically change our dialouge quest. some didnt went for the base near the scions of canopy where you can rescue tepoz's mother (mayahuel) or didnt see the other objective being there since i went there and rescued her. I gotta say, as wrong as Bran was regarding a lot of the stuff in Natlan, I respect him a lot! He's clearly invested in the lore and knows enough to especulate things that could actually happen. His only problem is that he gets tunnel vision and misses obvious stuff that either doesn't fit into his theories or just doesn't remember others Like, when he speculated about Ororon being from Khaenri'ah? If he just remembered that all people from Khaenri'ah have stars in their eyes, he would know Ororon couldn't even be a descendent. Capitano also has a lot of motifs from Khaenri'ah in his clothes, and literally a big eitght-pointed star on his forehead. Genshin is very good at establishing things through visual cues. I had my suspicious about Capitano just from his cape and the moment we saw the soul dude, who called Capitano Commander, it all but confirmed to me before he said anything But I'm also someone who remembers Genshin through its designs and motifs more than the stuff I've read, and Bran clearly remembers the written lore way more. He's far from dumb, he just prioritizes different things! Chat could've definitely been nicer about the stuff he missed lol Edit: yeah, I got to the part where Bran said he did think about the possibility. So, he obviously knows! I will say that I think people getting immersed in watching lore videos from content creators like Ashikai sometimes confuses as much as it helps, since wild theories and speculation are often lumped in with facts. It leads to confusion unless you're reading all of the source lore (books, artifact descriptions, weapon descriptions, interactable items, etc.) yourself to help separate fact from theory. I think that's the source of a lot of Bran's confusion, and I see it with some other content creators that watch summary/recap videos as well. It's not inherently bad to watch those things and I'm not judging anybody that does. It's good that they're an option for people that don't have the energy and working memory to put all the info together for themselves. I just wish people would fact check a bit more sometimes before stating things are true/false with their whole chest just because they saw (and possibly misinterpreted) a theory video.

Minor spoilers for the video below. I think they likely stretched the game's engine as far as they could without performance hits for the war section. The amount of npc's/enemies moving in real time (pretty sure things like the pylons are coded as enemies) was pretty sizable in a lot of those fights. Outside of pre-rendered cutscenes, there is likely a hard limit on what they can have going on at the same time. That is probably part of the reason behind the boundaries in the quest as well (no need to render what is just out of view). I am again impressed by what the devs are able to do with what is arguably not the most robust of game engines. I mean over in HSR (uses the same engine) it isn't as bad due to limited environments but if you pay attention to the way dialogue is handled when there are a certain number of character involved you'll notice that they almost always cut it down to four or less characters on screen at once (to not bog down the engine) even in conversations with more than four people. Anyway, technical talk aside, this really was a banger of a quest. Plot-wise it is tied with Fontaine act 5 for me, though I think this quest was better paced. It'll also be more enjoyable to replay for alt accounts.

Actually one of them told a pair of mother and child to hide, kept them safe and fought the abyssal monsters til death. The Traveller found them and led them to the stadium. They would be standing by the door leading to the heroes. (Heroes assemble cutscene) The mother would mention how grateful she was for the fatuis. All Archons want the best for their people but Mavuika so far is the most interacting one of them all Archon wise. Venti gave up his rule and let his nation lead itself, Zongli chose to fake his death and put the duty onto his people, Nahida while she has a positive relationship the Akademia and the Sages are the ones in the driver seat mainly taking directions and orders from Nahida, Ei let's the shogun rule directly, and Furina chose to rule but faced centuries of suffering alone so her people wouldn't (not by choice i know, but shes now focusing on herself and not ruling), Mavuika is seen talking and interacting with her people because she rose from human to godhood. She understands them best and physically fights for them and with them, she puts complete trust in them and takes on the big fish problems while her people take on the small frys

Nvm how unlike the previous pyro archons who only served for human life spans lengths, she sacrificed her previous life with her freinds/family so she can reincarnate over and over and over just to carry out the plan and handle its burden compared to just leaving it to the next pyro archons. Quite similar to how furina was silently suffering though immortality alone to save her people and we all know from furina's quest how that severely affects the human psyche (tobe fair non human archons too suffer from something similar "erosion" as venti/zhongli/shougn all commented on it). Fun Fact: The choices matter from yourself and that isn't about any objective are the same thing about it. If you choose what you want, other choices that you didn't select will have change. The choice you made, the consequences you will get for the change Example from this timestamp: 1:54:30 If you choose to the North first, there is a survivor that is the mother and a child and choose the third choice from selecting south means the baby saurian survive but 3 NPC will die. If you choose to the South first, 3 NPC will survive including the baby saurian but if you choose the third or second choice from the North means the mother and a child already dead or missing. Another one is the opinion objective: If you miss everything like the opinion, that will have sudden change from the camp First Choice has opinion choice like if he's mother is alright Then, after you are saving the camp, and you see a lady stuck with the abyssal enemy, but you choose to save her. Then, after time skip from the second choices that going to save the camp. Only one guard just survive camp desperate. If you didn't encounter that opinion, the camp about those guard will get eliminate and only the remaining survivor inside the camp are save.

Fun fact, phlogiston was discovered by member 2 of the genius society in HSR. Another person tried to disprove it (probably someone from enigmata) and then another genius society member proved it again. Genshin's teyvat already had it and the dragons before celestia used that as energy for their tech and even the primordial one used it to create elemental energy. The Amber lord, aeon of preservation cloaked some planets with a protection(?) and that could also explain the false sky of teyvat. The narwal was from space which was already mentioned, and we know the narwal is similar to the levaitans from HSR and the aeon of voractiy, Oroboros is also a Levaitan from birth. Aether said years ago that he and his sister escaped something, it could be either the anti matter legion, swarm, or oroboros itself. And now we know the Amber lord made the great wall where they trapped Tayzzyronth (propagation) and Oroboros (Voracity). And 5 years ago Lumine's character info on a post said their home world is already destroyed. Like this there are tons of other similarities between these two, like how Penuma and Ousa could literally be the Imaginary and Quantam element. What I'm saying is, maybe Teyvat is inside the HSR universe and not a different universe like Hi3 in the Imaginary tree.

This is my hot take on the last scene with Capitano and Lord of the Night. Ruler of Death once said that "Death is a rule". Khaenri'ah people are punished with the curse of immortality ie denial of death. He may want to challenge Mavuika for the Pyro Archon position. So this means he will then have to pay the price/debt for the use of the Ruler of Death power. He may be seeking recognition from the Lord of the Night (similar to how the Traveler is recognized) since Capitano is an Outlander not Natlan native. HIs endgame are to force Celestial into an impossible conundrums. Enfore the Rule of Death or Curse of Immortality. That may be Capitano final foe. I am just cooking over here. Could be totally wrong.

Death is preferable if not welcomed. So his end goal may be to force the Ruler of Death to potentially lift the curse not just for himself but for all Khaenrians. Would be interesting to find out which takes precedent, 'Death is a rule' or 'Curse of Immortality'. Again, I may just be cooking.

We also got the part where "Fate" can not stop death from happening. It can however change the time and place. Maybe while the "Rule of Death" is still active. Whoever controls "Fate" in Teyvat moved the time and area of Death for the people of Khaenri'ah basically millennia in the future. Not disabling the rule but finding a loophole for it. I thought this quest was very well done. The fights were tough, cutscenes were good, and even had me getting tears throughout. And for the first time, the Abyss felt like an actual threat for once, and i enjoyed how intense it felt

I'm only hopping on here to say that I'm kinda mad and disapointed that you would put this big spoiler as your youtube thumbnail. I love you Bran don't get me wrong, I know you didn't do this to purposely piss people off, i'm sure you didn't think about it. It's just that some of us work long hours during the week and havent had time to completely catch up to the archon quest. It hasn't even been out for a week. I barely just managed to start act IV. Most memorable part of act 4 for me was when I jokingly said to myself it was the end of act 4 and then the started banner popped up and I genuinely thought that was it for a second 😅 Also I feel like Capitano’s origins was pretty obvious. He has abilities without a vision and the colour scheme of his armour matches characters like Dain. I genuinely cried when Chuychu died 😭

Fr like the heavy war part has been the only part of natlan I enjoyed, besides it Fontaine was more enjoyable in every way personally

@@asahi6487 In Natlan, I often have problem with pacing and individual scene exposition. Like the non-cutscene animations and moments often feel less polished and fluid than in Fontaine and especially Sumeru. And sometimes they have no bg music (or we have cheerful bg music of said area) which kills the moment. And I also think they rely a bit too much on us being able to read unexplained context in a very fast paced moments. Like I'd really love if Mavuika said something before acquiring the power of the Shade of Death. Or if there was some distinctive effect to it. Something to initiate it. How am I supposed to know when she's just flexing archon powers and when she's boosted by the Shade's power when the visuals are exactly the same. It was a bit better on second rewatch because I knew how to read the situation, but the first run was a bit underwhelming at times.

My favorite theory about the game that ive heard lately is that Teyvat a kind of simulation. The digital looking irminsle. The projections you see from unstable ley lines. The forbidden knowledge is basically like corrupted data. And then that hole in the sky...looked pretty digital to me. Its actually seems really plausible!

I’m looking forward to Mauvikas story quest so much - to be a god means to walk beside humanity but not possess it; the Pyro Archon being just a human that happens to be imbued with the power of the throne means that they tread a line between both and it allows her to defend against evil like all Archons but also feel her humanity and allow it to remind her what and who she fights for: not simply humanity as a collective, but humanity as that which makes a person.

There is nothing special about humans in that world, their emotions are not special, their power is not special, their determination is not special.
