I personally feel like these leak video’s are aimed at F2P players and People who spend little money Since these leaks also contain info that are right at times and Upcoming characters, Like how Furina was mentioned in a leak and wriothesley for 5.4 was correct letting F2P’S have more time into saving up for these CHARATERS without running out of time. Then again it’s 2025 not 2020 people have normal lives and kids (since this is a kids game) who go to school not having enough time for gathering up your primos. I too was someone who Slightly believed in the Inazuma chronicle wish since Genshin was bending the rules like how they did with Shenhe. Also as a F2P player I find these leaks useful to get ahead and get the CHARATER I want without running outta primogems. I managed to get mavuika citlali and mavuika’s weapon without spending thanks to those leaks but then again I will start to be more careful with the Raiden Shotgun and only look up to banners that are mostly controversial and not the Chronicle wish or charaters (fatui) that are being leaked to be playable (which I highly doubt). HAY DAMMIT I WROTE TOO MUCH AGAIN 😭

Showed Hu Tao to be a pretty big hypocrite. The only reason it had a happy outcome was because of Traveler not being part of the Leylines. So what, now Traveler can pull people from deaths door? Cheapens the Ode of Resurrection. Its hard to really feel anything or enjoy the outcome lately when you know going in it's going to work out. I enjoyed Natlan for that reason- not everything ended happily- thousands died and the impact was able to be seen around Natlan. Just stop setting up these 'oh no someone is going to die' storylines when they're predictable and constantly cheapen the 'heartfelt' goodbyes. Best part of this LR is the events in Natlan teased to be causing phenomena in the other nations now.

Leaks and Drip marketing both ruin the excitement of seeing the new character for the first time in game. Build up the hype a month in advanced, by the time it actually comes out, the hype already died down, and people are starting to hype on the patch after. But unfortunately, this is a gacha game. Resource management is way too important that makes leaks so valuable to save people's money.

Leaks is okay and helpful but if they spread misinformation then we have a problem.

The problem I have with leaks on KZbin is a lot of the channels put the leaks in the thumbnail and I have to see them just scrolling my feed. If you know what you want and want to watch leaks, you do you. I want to play the game not just save for the next "OP character" (maybe) that might be coming out soon™.

If you ask me, the problem isn't the existence of the leaks themselves. Because let's be honest, every major live service game has them. The real problem is how for Genshin (and Hoyo games in general) its become so normalized to openly talk about leaks when with most other games you usually have to go out of your way to find them. And I'm saying this as someone who likes keeping track of banner leaks and speculation. I don't need to actively look for them, they just naturally appear on their own and that's the real problem.

I follow character and banner leaks so that as a (mostly) f2p player, I know who I want to save my wishes for. Say what you will about leaks being unreliable but I would've pulled for Neuvillette on his last banner if I hadn't known a Liyue Chronicled Wish was coming and I needed to save for Xiao (no, I don't care that Neuvillette is better than Xiao, I pull for characters I like more, not meta).

Any person in their right mind understands that specifically character kit leaks are unconditionally good thing, I want to remind you that Genshin has 100% predatory monetisation system that also capitalizes on FOMO. If player doesn't know what future character's kit and power level will be like he can't make decision whether he will like this character or not, leaving MANY players in the situation when they just pulled on constaletion/character they wanted mildly right before character they will REALLY like releases, sending them down the FOMO spiral. And in situation when there is no leaks it leads to people being in constants stress that they will like next character more than current. If not for absolutely horrendous and predatory monetisation system and Hoyo actively abusing it I would agree with you but the reality is what is explained above.
