I enjoy anything this group plays. To me they are very well balanced but I am comparing them to my high school and college concert bands. Thus I respect the opinions of the experts.

Thank you all. This arrangement is very exposed for many players at the start and you coped well. Tuning did suffer occasionally, but this is expected where sections of the band need to play in perfect octaves. The euphonium soloist did well for what is a very difficult passage leading into the first tutti band entry. Unfortunately the band got a little lost at this point as the conductor broke into quaver beats - never mind. The finishing bars, although not as in the operatic score, are taken from an earlier scene in the same opera, so they remain faithful to the composer. Overall a big pat on the back for playing real quality music (not necessarily referring to the arrangement) in a quality concert. Well done. Geoff (PS. You do play in very nice venues!)

Sensitive percussion playing. Delicate soprano cornet. Fine trombones. Solid flugelhorn.

A very noble effort; difficult to keep in time and (especially perfect octaves) in tune; nevertheless, as a brass band player myself ( BBb tuba), I respect their performance - it carries the solemnity, tragedy, and tenderness that I believe Wagner intended.

Seems slow to me. I like Thielemann's version.

I don't like the interpretation. An very often they are not together - maybe it's to slow.
