Brass Gate Valve Specifications

In this video, we will be looking at the Waterworks Brass Gate valves. We stock three different Brass Gate Valves which include the General-purpose Brass Gate Valve, the Watermark DZR Brass Gate Valve, and the DZR Watermarked T-Handle Gate Valve. Some typical applications include, in plumbing systems to regulate flow of water, heating and cooling systems, Industrial applications such as oil and gas, and Agricultural applications such as irrigation systems. Brass Gate valves are suitable for a wide range of applications that require a reliable valve with the ability to control fluid flow.
Let’s start by looking at the Waterworks General-purpose Brass Gate Valve.
1. This valve is designed to be highly durable and capable of withstanding a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
2. It is resistant to corrosion due to its brass components. However brass is not compatible with certain chemicals, such as acids and bases.
3. Other features include the PTFE packing gland and gasket, the stainless-steel indication cap and nut, and the cast iron handle.
4. We stock the general-purpose Brass Gate valve in sizes 15mm to 100mm.
5. This Valve is pressure rated to 1600 KPa.
Next, in the Range is the Watermark Approved DZR Brass Gate Valve.
1. The majority of this valve’s components are made from DZR brass, also known as dezincification-resistant brass. This brass valve is preferred in applications where dezincification corrosion may be a concern such as in plumbing systems.
2. This valve features a PTFE packing gland and gasket, brass hex cap, a stainless-steel indicator cap and a cast iron handle.
3. Although more expensive than general purpose brass, the addition of DZR brass significantly extends the valve's lifespan and reduces the risk of failure.
4. We stock this valve in sizes 15mm-50mm.
5. It is pressure rated to 2500 KPa.
The Watermark DZR Brass Gate Valve T-Handle is the third valve in the range.
1. Created from DZR brass, this valve is durable and has a high level of corrosion resistance.
2. Its components are primarily made of DZR brass, except for its packing gland and Gasket which are made from PTFE, a hex cap made from stainless steel, and a brass nut.
3. This valve is available in sizes from 15mm to 50mm.
4. It is pressure rated to 2500 KPa.
Similarities of all three Brass Gate Valves include:
1. They all have a Working temperature of 1°C to 95°C and have been 100% pressure tested.
2. Both of the DZR Brass Gate Valves have been Watermark approved and tested and certified to AS 1628.
