Great little fridge freezer .12volt or 24volt .if the fridge is full and is down to the temp you set its economical to run on eco mode.

Hello Mr. Easterbrook, I like to get one of these to use in my campervan as a freezer set at about -10 degrees C. I intend to put some icecream in there, possibly some ice cubes for drinks and the odd frozen left-overs. Did you ever test the machine as a freezer and if so what kind of a duty cycle did it show freezing?

You need minus 20 for icecream

Can you tell us about connections how to plug in to and and what
@derekeasterbrook67914 ай бұрын
I have to 2 leads I use to connect the fridge, One has an Anderson plug connector and the other lead has a 12v plug. I've had the fridge for four and a half years and it's still working fine. It used to run it through the Anderson plug on a Kings AGM battery and battery box but these days it sits on the rear seat of my Colorado dual cab work utility and it plugs into the rear 12v outlet. It keep my drinks cold while I'm working. Cheers.

Hello Derek I have the same fridge but can't measure amp draw when it's on high setting(red light) I don't have that amp gadget. I see that you tested in on eco mode the continuous draw is 2.9A but my question is what is the continuous amp draw on high setting red light??? Now I looked up the manual from high tech marine and it's got there for the draw 3.8A/1.9A which seems to be wrong since it draws about 3A on eco mode so what's the true full power mode draw have you measured it?
@derekeasterbrook67913 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, I've never used any of my two fridges on the high setting because I've never had the need for it. Once the fridge reaches the set temperature, the compressor will turn off and it will cycle at a very low current draw of .06A until the thermostat turns on again. How often the fridge is opened and other factors like heat, airflow, and battery voltage will determine how long it will cycle. Cheers.

@@derekeasterbrook6791 I use mine on high setting when running my car as it sits on my back seat and I can just reach the button but I turn it to eco if the car is not running. I also found there is an E3 setting called "return temperature" and it's set to factory default of 3 degrees Celsius which means if you set your fridge to 0C it will not cycle untill temperature reaches +3C now I think this could be useful to save power if this setting is increased to 5 degrees as it will be cycling less often ie if desired temperature is 0C it won't cycle again till it reaches 5C. These hidden settins can be accessed by 1. Turn fridge off with power button 2. Press and hold the SETTINGS button for about 4 seconds 3. Use the setting button to cycle from E1-E9 and use arrows to change anything

It's not a secop/danfoss it's an LG compressor ..cheer's Derek
@derekeasterbrook67913 жыл бұрын
The large Brass Monkey fridge/freezers have an LG compressor but the smaller ones have a Chinese compressor. One of the salesmen at Road Tech Marine corrected me when I mentioned it was a Secop compressor and he said that the smaller ones definitely had Chinese compressors. Most domestic fridges sold in Australia have Chinese compressors and, as far as I know, LG compressors are made in China. Cheers

How does this go as a freezer? How does your battery cope with two fridges. I'm looking at doing the same thing.
@derekeasterbrook67913 жыл бұрын
I use it on the freezer setting with my camper trailer when I go camping and it has 3 x 100AH AGMs in it. I also use a 50L Waeco fridge on the fridge setting. I also have a dual battery system in my 4x4 with a second starter battery but I haven't tried it on the freezer setting. I have noticed it needs to be well ventilated if I use it in my work 4x4 in the canopy.

hi buddy could this be used with my mazda3 sedan or will it draw to much on my battery
@derekeasterbrook67913 жыл бұрын
Hi Leo, you could use the fridge while you are driving but it drain your battery. The battery in a Mazda 3 would only be about 570 cold cranking amps, not deep cycle amps. The fridge would probably draw about 14 amps over a 10 hour period, but I wouldn't use it without a second battery.

would this thing run in sunny day on 400w solar?
@derekeasterbrook67913 жыл бұрын
Sorry o be late getting back to you but I've had a heavy fall and cracked my spine and been in hospital. A 400 watts solar pane would produce a few amps just after sunrise and increase it's output to 19 amps at it's peak. So the simple answer is yes it would easily supply enough power to run the fridge and still charge your battery. Cheers
