Review of the NEW 25L Brass Monkey Fridge Freezer

This is my 3 week review of the new 25L Brass Monkey fridge/freezer after taking it on multiple trips. I will discuss some good things and some things that aren't so good about this budget freezer.

Purchased mine 22ltr, from Tandy, fridge was 299.00 and incl a " DC" cord only, the "AC" cord was an extra $50.00, and $100.00 for the cover "comes with tie downs loops". I thought it worth mentioning, otherwise seems like good quality and does what it says. Very good review!

Does the 22ltr have bluetooth?

Hi Jake! The Bluetooth just kind of runs all the time. I don’t believe it is possible to turn it off. You can just ignore it and you wouldn’t even know it is on 😊 Feel free to subscribe. I am doing a long term review on this in 2 weeks 👍

Hey mate, have you had any issues with yours freezing everything? Ive had mine set to 4 and its still freezing a lot of the contents. Also very annoying vut you hsve to buy cover to get the tie downs!

The fridge does ice up on the sides but I haven’t noticed it freezing my food. I haven’t had food in there for longer than a day at a time so maybe it takes a while. If you are storing your food near the element it might freeze. You can see where the cooling elements are by looking for the condensation. That would freeze stuff for sure!

Hey, what's it like a year later? Is it still cold? do you still have it or have you upgraded? Brass monkey have drastically reduced the price of their whole range by over half price before Christmas.! I just purchased the 25 litre model for $165au

try to buy Cover there is notch for tie down strap , anyway how many WATT , because i need to plug this to solar panel maybe 150W or 200W no idea thanks

Good idea with the cover! Fridges and a lot of other accessories don’t give out how many watts. Mostly because watts is a unit of measurement that doesn’t consider the amount of time of the power output/input. Conversions can be done with the right formula. If you research 20L fridge power draw you should find your answer in amp/hour. So far my 160w solar panel has kept my battery at 13.2v all week with the fridge running in the car with interior temperatures at 60 degrees Celsius.

Does the compressor run while not hooked up to AC/DC (assuming the battery is charged)

The compressor in the fridge runs the same whether it is on 12v or 240v. There is no difference in operation between the 2 power methods and cooling still happens via the compressor. I hope this helps. If you haven’t subscribed already, feel free to do so 😊 Thank you 🙏

@@NorthOz i saw you have problem to tie down your brass monkey, i found out you need to buy a cover and there is a notch every corner for the strap by the way how many WATTS is your 25Liter Fridge

@@australiaaustralia1947 Power draw is measured in amp hours so I can't help you with the Watts. There is a formula you can find to help you with this conversion. Power draw seems to be around 1-3 amp hours depending if it is 65 degrees or not in the truck

What are the internal dimensions please? Could you fit a 2L soft drink or wine bottle upright in it?

I doubt it. It can’t fit a 1.25L bottle of soft drink standing up. I lay big bottles down or put it in a more ergonomic bottle

Good question. I can’t find an official number. It’s easy enough to carry. I would say 15-20kg at the most

Tying it down was tricky. Most of the weight is down the one end due to the compressor so you shouldn’t have too many problems securing it. I haven’t had issues with it yet with the way I tied it down
