It's not supposed to be serious, Amber is crazy, hence why the video is like this, so no they weren't actually supposed to be playing the instruments at all, nor really look like they were, basically the only way to explain this video is... Its just Amber, and she is awesome ^^

Personally, I feel that because pop music is already looked down upon by "serious" music fans and musicians, it really doesn't help when not even the most basic foundation of musicianship or authenticity is observed. Shake the Brass MV is just like all the other examples of pop idols who can't play instruments at all and just mime playing them in music videos, and they aren't even holding the instruments correctly and none of the movements are even in sync with the actual music. It's so cringe-worthy and makes it harder to respect them, because such behaviors give off the impression that they don't respect musicianship and authenticity all that much. It's one thing to have fun, but it's altogether different when you are disrespecting what musicians hold dear to their hearts (even if it's unintentional).

Matt K I think it's a little bit disrespectful towards the instruments and musicians to handle them the wrong way when you can find internet tutorials on how to properly handle an instrument. I feel like if they wanted props to have fun with, they should have gotten toy instruments. Would have also made for a quirkier, more crazy fun video.

She's doing her own nae nae because there was NO Whip/Nae Nae when this MV was released, it was in February 2015 and Nae nae was release in may (the song) the mv in summer of the same year, so yeah, maybe Whip/Nae Nae took the idea from Amber here. It's a habit for other artists whatever it's South or North America, Asia etc to take ideas or simply copy k-pop. And the funniest thing about that is that k-pop is influenced by the western music (old one let's say, the best one) and not only, but they simply take that influence and create their own style, that's why it is so special, cause no one else can do that, no one.
