Mojo matched a Beechler Tonalex to my Brilhart Tonalin that I wanted for a backup. He did a spot on job!

Hi Keith, great work on that! I just found my notes on this mouthpiece by searching my email for F1, found the client I did it for, and then looked up my notes. When i first got it, it had already been worked on and closed down, and the work wasn't great. The client (who was a known "tinkerer" to me) insisted he wanted it brought further down to .085". I told him this scared me, as the material under the bite plate already seemed thin. After getting it back, he then wanted it opened back up a bit to .095". I advised against it, but he was quite insistent, and I relented. This was accomplished without cutting through to the bite plate, my notes and emails indicate. I don't doubt that it was further tinkered with again (I certainly didn't do any solder work on it). Nice work resurrecting it!

Brian Powell Thanks for the additional history on this mouthpiece. I should have stated more clearly that there were indications that this mouthpiece was worked on before and after you worked on it.

This was for my biggest client who sends me about a dozen mouthpieces every year. I leave the play testing up to him and he keeps sending me more.

Hi, I don't know anything about soldering brass, I need to solder two small pieces of brass, I bought one butane torch and 70% silver wire. These parts comes in a electronics desoldering station, maximum temp is 420 Celsius degrees, Do you know if silver solder can put up with this temp? Thanks in Advance.

If you had put some flux into that little void the solder might have travelled into it.

That looked so ugly after the brazing, but so beautiful when it was finished. Brilliant work. 👍 How did it play though?

Hi Keith, from Russia:) Great job! I also soldered the metal plate, and the metal table in various mouthpieces. Also filled in the cracks. Sometimes the mouthpiece material (bronze) is at a lower temperature and may have melted. What kind of solder do you use? Does it contain cadmium? I use 60% silver. How cost this work in USA? Thanks!

Vosssaxx I used Extra Easy Silver Solder from Otto Frie. I do not know the composition.
