Why not make a version for French Horn called a "Reed French Horn Mouthpiece"?
@davidsimmons27905 ай бұрын
Hey, Mojo. Would you be willing to make a video on the process of hand finishing these 3d printed mouthpieces? I'm very interested in the topic, and I think a lot of others would find it helpful for printing your designs. I know this is a huge favor to ask, but I thought I'd ask just in case. Thanks!

Fascinating video. I really enjoy watching you work. (I realize this is nearly a decade old.) If I dropped my fav mouthpiece that much, I’d attach it to a badge reel or something similar, even a lanyard. Anything to preserve it and my sanity.

I mention it in the video. The backbone is larger (not tapered) and a little longer on the last one.

my buescher c sop also has god aweful intonation. dont have the original mpc. i found a few Bb mpcs that will work yamaha 4c -cut off some of the shank-rico metalite -cut off shank. runyon custom -works as is-and wonder old buffet large chamber mpc works best of all, hope you get back to doing refacing work again. your work has always been execellent for my mpcs
@MojoBari8 ай бұрын
These mouthpieces have a slightly smaller chamber volume than Bb Runyons do. Not sure how they compare to a sawed off Yamaha. If the volume is too large, you need to push in a lot. Then the high notes can be sharp and/or the low notes flat. Probably can lip them in but the best strategy is to get the best chamber volume to help you and lip what is left over.

This is awesome! I've been using Legere reeds for a few years. This video makes me interested in buying or using a 3D printer. Did you end up adding your 3D printed reed into concert rotation? Did it last as long as a Legere? Have you printed reeds for soprano clarinet, or Alto Saxophone?

I had it analyzed with a X-ray particular material appraisal gun. HERE IT IS ! 98.32% Sn (Tin) 1.68% Cu (Copper) So, as I had thought, they are basically a tin alloy.
