This is a patch I made for a drone night a while back and have had a lot of fun playing around with it. It's great for generating unexpected happy accidents, especially with an instrument like my trumpet or hank drum. I also demoed it in one of my Modular By Nature videos. This video has two demos of the patch with a walkthrough in the middle.

this is a great video, Scott. good sounds. one of the ideas i've been thinking about lately came from watching some rob hordijk talks on youtube and realizing that i was carrying an understanding of "feedback" from my pre-modular synth days, i.e. that feedback was something that happened strictly in the audio path, like microphones picking up PA output or guitar strings resonating sympathetically with amplifiers. what i got from rob was thinking about expanding feedback into the space of "an output of something at some point feeding back into one of that thing's inputs" - that it can occur in the CV domain as well. like a benjolin/rungler using the output of the shift register to FM the oscillator that is being fed into the same shift register. if i'm not mistaken, you're sticking with the audio domain here, and it sounds great, but i think expanding the concept of feedback outside the audio path might introduce other possibilities. i don't mean to presume you're operating under the same limited idea of feedback that i was hung up on ... but it's probably reasonable to assume that *some* other viewers are and i thought i'd throw this out there because it was kind of a forehead-slapping moment for me.

Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment! Definitely lots to learn from Rob Hordijk. It's funny and a little ironic that you mention CV feedback on this video, because the matrix mixer clued me in to that universe. I do often forget about it and lean more towards doing audio feedback, but that's a good reminder to explore that potential more.

Do you still use Chord V2 much?

No, I actually don’t have it anymore. Lately I’ve been using an Acid Rain Chainsaw with Tetrapad for my chords
