love the Braun light .. Keep a smooth steel disk/puck for a base to use for the light when not using where you can stick it to your project ... I keep one in the house stuck to the top of my fridge ... aim it to the ceiling in a power out and you have an awesome light that is up and out of the way and not sitting on the counter.

Unilite is a much better option. They also offer a small, medium and larger size. IL-175R has become my favorite EDC light.

I had not seen that light before, the IL-175R looks to be really compact, small enough to EDC. Lower lumen output at 175 lumens. I like the 2nd side magnet. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for watching! 👍

I bought steel metal plate 4X4" I think in Menards for 1,50$ or so and braun stand at it without problem. Same plate is in Home depot 1$. Used it already with braun light many times.

They just had the Icon on a one day sale for $20. Bought 5. Also have 5 Braun's . I'll take the ICON any day if the price is the same. Changing batteries is a non issue as they cost nearly as much as the light. Also the ICON battery is absolutely replaceable. I find it much easier to grab a fully charged light than having extra batteries. I have these things everywhere. I did a little more research I see you can get the batteries cheap enough. When I looked 2 years ago I only found $15 batteries.

The braun runs on all the 18650s but does it charge all kinds of 18650 or only the one it comes with?

The Icon is good quality but the battery 🪫 is not replaceable and it takes 4 hours to fully charge. The Icon is a nice design, more compact and a good copy but too many trade offs. Thanks for watching!

Yeah that’s a good price. A good deal for that light 💡 design vs snap-on and others that have that single pivot design. I look for harbor freight to improve the icon just like they did the Braun.
